Re: Shep Gordon:They Call Me Supermensch.
Everything is, of course, speculative yet interesting to discuss. My take is that Ezrin was the most important catalyst for the band's success. He took them apart and rebuilt them from the ground up, musically. Same as George Martin's role with The Beatles- young & raw talent that needed developed a...

Re: CHEMICAL REACTION ( Rating The Un released and Bonus Cut
"Is Anyone Home?"- always loved this song. Great melody and vocals. Beatlesque and has the "You Won't See Me" bass line running through it. Should've been a hit. 10/10.

Re: Constrictor definitive edition
It always comes down to money. A deluxe reissue of Constrictor probably wouldn't generate a profit for whomever would release it. It's nice to discuss the possibilities but it more than likely won't occur. I would buy and enjoy a 40th anniversary deluxe reissue of Lace and Whiskey if that were to ha...

I could read these for hours on end. The Deacon is amazing. I hope he continues on to Goes to Hell and Lace and Whiskey. Thanks for posting these.

Re: Constrictor definitive edition
From pitkin88: > If this album was to be re released with bonus cuts it probably wouldnt sell more than a few thousand and would probably would be cost prohibitive. Yes, as Si stated. maybe as a regular release - but if it would be a only download release or would be selled through kickstarter it w...

Re: Sheryl Assaulted by Fan in Huntsville
Glad Sheryl is ok. Unfortunately, society has devolved to the point of beyond logic. The Richard Dixon skit from '73 was fun satire that we fans could enjoy in a light-hearted manner. These days, everyone is so angry, easily offended, and takes things way too personally. Add alcohol to the mix and y...

Re: El Paso Album
Too bad Warner/ Rhino doesn't acquire and release the King Biscuit Flower Hour broadcasts of some of the shows like San Diego 1979. A while back, several King Biscuit titles were released like Todd R and Utopia. The El Paso show and the Special Forces tour would also be great to have released legiti...

Re: the replacement of the live cover song section
Agreed. Ferocious vocal. If someone forced me to pick his greatest vocal over his illustrious career, I would have to select PA #9. Such power and swagger. It's stunning. "You Drive me Nervous" ranks close as well as "Hello Hooray" and "School's Out". I feel his voice was at its peak during '71-'73...

Re: big announcement on CNN
My guess is that he will entertainingly announce his candidacy for president while actually promoting the Hollywood Vampires. CNN probably feels that the Johnny Depp connection is newsworthy. It could also be something regarding the Solid Rock Foundation. Wish it is about a full-blown reunion. Just ...

Re: His voice is too ugly to sing "Poison"
Rocknroll, why would you join the Sickthings group if you dislike Alice so much? "He's not a good singer"..."He sure sounds like an old woman, too", etc... Because that's the truth. He's known for his shocking stage theatrics, not the voice. I have heard most of his songs, watched plenty of intervi...

Re: His voice is too ugly to sing "Poison"
Two great quotes- "Poison is as beautiful as Roseanne Barr" and " At this point, I don't think anyone can take any of your future posts seriously." I agree with Andy, there was no giant leap in recording technology between those two years. Rocknroll, I think I see your point if you mean the overuse ...

Re: Alice's Facebook Page
I'm sure Alice has many people working and running his Facebook pages. He's a busy guy. Tours constantly, golfs almost daily, is a husband, father, and grandfather. I couldn't really imagine him maintaining two pages(NWAC being the other). He records his radio show while touring and I read where he ...

Re: Bruce Roberts
The FTI album was engineered extremely well. The piano, drums, guitars, and vocals sound excellent. Foster's production was a bit overblown with excess backing vocals as we've discussed numerous times. Love the album despite some of the production. 1978 & 1979 were interesting and great years for ro...

Re: HBO series Vinyl
From Mr.Bluelegs: "If they use the original, they have to pay a performance royalty." Not exactly. It depends who "they" are. The broadcaster pays royalties (except in this case, I understand the broadcaster is subject paying a fee not royalties) but the producers of the show would have had to pay ...

Re: Bob Ezrin - Still worthy?
I can offer a personal observation. I live in the USA. I came to be an Alice fan as a teenager at the end of 1980--coming off of Flush The Fashion which my friend loaned me. I was familiar with Alice since I was a little kid but it was that album that really introduced him to me and Special Forces ...

Re: Bob Ezrin - Still worthy?
I always liked "I'm the Coolest", too. Remember that Henry Winkler ( Fonzie) was approached to appear on the song but declined. Winkler didn't want to be "typecast" so he turned Alice down. Met the guy once in the '70's (around the time of the album) and he was, pretty much, an egotistical jerk. Gla...
