Re: Are Alice's Touring Days Over?
Fran Healey from Travis was on last night and made a good point. If they had a system where you could be tested there and get the results straight away then live events could happen again. Apparently this isn't too far away. But none of us know, there are far too many 'Facebook' experts already. Br...

Re: New album cover
I'll bet that Alice and company are enjoying this conversation. I love it when people bash my work. (This comment is not pointed at anyone - just picking up a lot of negativity amongst the fans.) I am into this. The first song hits me great. Can't wait. Yip have to agree. I really like the first so...

I like it. Very much the same sound as Breadcrumbs. Alice's voice is so strong for a man his age. Only heard it on my phone so really looking forward to hearing it properly. Bodes well for the album.

Re: New album cover
[quote=andyrew post_id=307095 time=1605141131 user_id=3723] Been a while, so just wanted to chime in. I too am somewhat disappointed to see the songs from the Breadcrumbs EP. I had thought those would be a sampling of how the album would sound, not actually be on the album. If anything, Go Man Go wa...

Re: New album cover
I was annoyed at the breadcrumb tracks being on. I was hoping that was a standalone lp and this would be all new tracks. The blabbermouth site has (album version) next to these tracks but probably will only be some tinkering. Also heard very little about any involvement from the originals other than...

I am going to add Scarlett and Sheba. I think this would be the one song from Dada that would work brilliantly live.

Re: Live at Glasgow '82 - 2lp RSD 20202
I was 15 when me and my two friends went to this gig. We had dogged school and dodged the train fair to get our tickets. It sold out in two hours. I remember the atmosphere was so different from any other concert. We were about 10 years younger than the rest of the crowd. One reviewer said it was mo...

Re: Live at Glasgow '82 - 2lp RSD 20202
The sound quality is superb and yes it is the full concert including the intro and full encore. When Radio Clyde first broadcast it in 1982 they played the main part of the gig but not the encore. There was such a clamour that a week later they played the encore on its own.

Re: Live at Glasgow '82 - 2lp RSD 20202
The quality is superb. I recently got the bootleg version (how is that for timing) that was from the radio Clyde recording. This has obviously been cleaned up but they have kept a good portion of the amazing atmosphere that was there that night. The level of musicianship is incredible. What a band.

Same here, ninth in the que for monorail in Glasgow and only 8 copies. Fortunately one person didn't buy Alice and I got the last copy. £28.99. Haven't played it yet but the packaging is really disappointing. Surely they could have stretched to a gatefold with some pictures. Quite a few in the queue...

Re: Live at Glasgow '82 - 2lp RSD 20202
I have just spoken to a record store in Glasgow and they have said that they have ordered two different Alice albums, the Apollo live one and a different album. Unfortunately he didn't have any details on the other release.

Re: Alice Songs You Like More Than Most Other Fans Do
This house is haunted, I actually used this as the basis for the kids I was teaching to devise a play.
He's back. I don't like much from this era but have a soft spot for this song.

Re: Tours & Venues - Where have they gone?
Glasgow Apollo. An absolute dump - broken seats, sticky carpet, smelly. But what a fantastic place to see a band. God, I miss it. A very special venue. I recently watched an STV documentary on the Apollo just before they pulled it down. Narrated by Alvin Stardust of all people. Alice gets a few men...

Re: Glasgow Apollo, February 19th, 1982.
I bought the bootleg vinyl last year after spending 37 years trying to track it down, only for them to announce the following week that it was getting a proper release. Under my wheels was the standout but model citizen and I never cry were incredible.
