Re: Happy paranormal day!!!

I picked my copy from the local record store (a standard CD version) and have listened to it twice. Paranormal is diverse, upbeat and well written (at least from lyrical standpoint) album that has many references to old Alice Cooper songs, in fact loads of them. It's quite a retro and old fashioned ...

Re: Paranormal Personality - the first single

I actually really like the drum sound on this track. It is much more lively and loud than what we have heard recently from Alice. Vocals are nice but nothing unusual stylistically speaking. The most interesting part of the song is definitely the atmospheric intro which reminds me a lot of Pink Floyd...

Re: Paranormal Cover

I agree with you Holly Grail, the album cover is OK. I would also prefer something else on the background instead of plain white and lettering in the album title could be more exotic and vivid.

Re: New album update

Let's be grateful that Alice is in fact releasing a new album. He could have easily put together "A Best of" compilation with one or two new songs among the same old songs we have already heard countless times or even worse make a rerecording of one of his more notable albums. Making new music isn't...

Re: New album update

None of us have heard even a half minute of music from this upcoming album and some are already writing it off based on a couple of song titles and I wouldn't be surprised if they had already decided a rating for it. This is absolutely crazy. Song titles often don't reveal anything about musical dir...

Re: New album update

I put a link here to a blabbermouth article which is Alice talking about the upcoming album with Eddie Trunk. While information is mostly the same as in a Classic Rock article, Alice actually mentions that there are couple of scary songs on the record. I didn't see him mentioning that in the Classic...

Re: New Alice Album in 2 or 3 months

I love W2MN too. Production on it was great, playing was excellent and songwriting incredibly diverse. It was and still is a very entertaining album. It is probably his only album from this century that has retained some of its freshness and I still think it's one of his most inventive albums ever w...

Re: New Alice Album in 2 or 3 months

While Alice Cooper has experimented with very different musical styles like disco, country, pop, jazz, psychedelic etc. his albums as a whole can all be categorized as rock or some of its sub genres like industrial metal or hair metal. He has never completely abandoned rock music and gone electronic...

Re: New Alice Album in 2 or 3 months

That was a great post Andy Michael. I completely agree. Some people here act like it is almost a cardinal sin to stay current and keep up with the trends, when quality of the album should be all that matters. Alice has and he definitely should follow his artistic instincts and make the kind of music...

Re: New Alice Album in 2 or 3 months

I'm clearly much more into his solo stuff than you two (Pitkin88 and Ted Sallis) and loved W2MN. So we have differences in taste and preference. I wasn't fully aware how little original group had rehearsal time. So I take some of my statement back. Still it would be disappointing for me to not hear ...

Re: New Alice Album in 2 or 3 months

I got nothing against the original group collaborating or even a reunion album but I am totally opposed to the idea of reunion tour for following reasons. 1) Alice's show is mostly based on 1971-1973 material anyway. 2) I saw the videos that appeared two years ago when original group popped up in va...

Re: Anyone excited about the new "Billion Dollar Babies" alb

In one Blabbermouth article Alice said that there really isn't that much of a concept this time and he will pick 10 best songs for the new album, it doesn't matter where they came from. It's gonna be pure riff rock-and-roll. My point is that those songs written with the original band members may not...

Re: New tour

I'd like to see the covers section dropped and replaced with original material. An opinion that doesn't surprise anyone. Apart from Model Citizen your choices for rarities are excellent. I would be extremely satisfied and stoked to see something else than Lost in America played from The Last Temptat...

Re: ALICE COOPER albums always in same vein as LOVE IT TO DE

Love It To Death is an excellent album. But you can't recapture the mindscape and enthusiasm of youth. Any experienced artist can tell you that. That's just impossible. Even the bands who repeat their classic sound over and over again do sometimes bad or even awful albums. Motorhead and AC/DC have d...

Re: Hollywood Vampires - Milwaukee

Hollywood Vampires album has a surprisingly high rating on amazon.com 4.6 stars. Actually it has the highest rating of any Alice Cooper related studio release since Brutal Planet and I personally don't understand why. Not many here are crazy about it either. Personally I think it is the worst album ...

Re: His voice is too ugly to sing "Poison"

You have a good taste Mr.Barlow. Steven, Pass The Gun Around, Go To Hell and My Stars are also my top Alice Cooper songs. I also think Trash is very Bon Jovi- esque. It doesn't have the sense or spirit of adventure that all his 70's albums have. In the 70's you never knew for sure what the next trac...

Re: Pretties for you performed live nov. 8th by Nick Didkovs

The concept of someone outside the Alice Cooper circles performing Pretties For You in its entirety was very interesting, brave and exceptional but the album is in my opinion far from being a masterpiece. It is a musical document that reflects the experimental spirit of the late 60's and it has an u...
