Re: As Bad As I Am

Just heard the recorded version and I prefer it to the live Grammys version (not surprising although the live version was pretty good for me)- I have said elsewhere that I am not keen on the lyrics but it hangs together as a song so overall a plus

Social Commentary Alice anyone?

As I have grown older, and perhaps more mature, I have grown away from Alice's horror schtick and have started to value his songs where there is an element of social commentary. Now that has existed in some form since way back but I am thinking mainly of his solo career. I am beginning to value song...

Thanks for posting Steven- Have only listened to a bit so far but he predicts an actor as president- Reagan four years or so later- this is the intelligent/philosophical Alice that I like ( Hope the interview doesn't go downhill int his respect later lol)

Re: More About The Grammys

Why couldn't they do some of "We Are The Road Crew" & segue it into "Road Rats" while still keeping AC in mind? :alice: As a pairing might work well but since it is intended to be a dedication to the legendary Lemmy I feel that to include an Alice Cooper song might be seen as self referencing as su...

Re: More About The Grammys

Have given Orgasmatron a listen and I reckon that would be a strong choice- seems to have an anti religion aspect to it which might not sit well with AC but you never know-good song

Re: More About The Grammys

It would seem to me to be a strange mixture if Alice/HV was to take on the vocals of Ace of Spades following on or followed by a new track- but I am not judging-it might be great. I am just hoping there is not some kind of horrible medley and did fear he might trot out something like School's Out ag...

Re: More About The Grammys

Definitely do not think they should play Schools Out or any other AC song- otherwise would become a self congratulatory show - will be interesting to hear what they do play- It will be a live performance won't it? (no idea how the Grammys do things now with so many backtracking lipsynchers about)

Re: This Pink Floyd Orchestral Album

Yep Si, I think the use of it as an effect is the important point. When I listen to Alma Mater on Schools Out, there seems to be some kind of vocal effect there-perhaps he is singing through an old sock as far as I know- its only done for effect and we either like it or not. A bit too sugary for me ...

Re: This Pink Floyd Orchestral Album

Yes he definitely used it as an effect in I Am Made of You. Sadly autotune is very common it studio recordings these days (and has been for a while). The same with click tracks (and looping). The beat and the pitch have to be exact ( or so the record companies, a&r men and producers believe. Theres ...

Re: This Pink Floyd Orchestral Album

Have A Cigar is on Spotify (as a single) but strangely is instrumental... Think Alice might have sung this one well- trouble is the line about which one's Pink would probably have brought back conspiracy theory discussion re Alice Cooper the group splitting up- mind you he could have sung " by the ...

Re: Monster dog coming to blu ray

Anybody want to buy my vintage VHS copy- thought not lol

I used to watch loads of horror vidoes in the 1980s but I wouldn't have gone near this one if AC not in it. One for the Golden Turkey Awards. Someone must think there is a market for it on blu ray- beats me.
