Re: Bob Ezrin-Past, Present And Future

I don't think Alice is out to make a cutting edge album and jump on the hipster wagon at this point in his life. He does not need to be--or want to be-- "pushed", "tested", "prodded", "poked", "needled" when making an album. Maybe not, but as fans we want the best quality in music. And I think Alic...

Re: Bob Ezrin-Past, Present And Future

I love a lot of the things he's done with Alice in the past, but as I've stated recently, there creativity together seems to have run it's course. I don't like the Weird Al type sound and humor he seems to steer Alice in the direction of, Welcome 2 My Nightmare should have went in the direction Alic...

Re: Am I The Only One Who Liked W2MN?

I liked it most the first time I heard it, especially for the nostalgia when the original was referenced. But other than that I hate that it wen't for more of the Weird Al type parody thing with both the lyrics and sound, especially considering how good Under My Bed was and knowing that was the orig...

Re: Paranormal Personality - the first single

Under My Bed was the 1st song written for the album. Alice said Bob thought it should go in a different direction which I think was a huge mistake. It's not that I have a problem with how the songs sound when it comes to the actual audio, it's more the musical direction and some of the creative deci...

Re: Paranormal Personality - the first single

The funny thing is, Under My Bed would have been my favorite song on the album. That's the kind of album I was hoping for and I think what a lot of fans were expecting.

Re: Paranormal Personality - the first single

I just read that article and a few parts especially stood out to me. "“In a big way, it really captures the core of the album." “It’s in many ways like getting to time-travel back and hear new music from Alice. Some of it’s so amazing that I get goosebumps every time I listen." Really ? Because I'm ...

Re: Paranormal Personality - the first single

The song doesn't really do anything for me. I don't care for Alice's vocals on this one.

Re: Paranormal Cover

The rise of cd's pretty much put a end to classic album covers as we know it. Now with digital downloads being as prevalent as they are, cover art is even less important. I completely disagree with that. I think now, maybe even more ever the album cover is important. Because those of us who actuall...

Re: New album update

I think a big problem with Alice, when it comes to new or newer material is that he doesn't seem to believe in it and is too comfortable relying on the hits. One of the reasons some of his best songs are not well known is the fact he;s never consistantly played a lot of them live and given them a ch...

Re: New album update

Corey Taylor of Slipknot said Rick Rubin today is a shadow of what he was in the 80s and early 90s. Many bands spoken experiences with him are that the majority of the work is done by the engineer. And yet he continues to get great albums out of his artists. I don't really care *how* he does it, ei...

Corey Taylor of Slipknot said Rick Rubin today is a shadow of what he was in the 80s and early 90s. Corey Taylor has also since apologized for those remarks and admitted it was more on his end. made them because he was going through a very hard time in his life, he was freshly sober and wanted more...

Re: New album update

ANYONE BUT RUBIN! Rubin is the kind of producer that DOES NOT DO THE JOB Metallica, Johnny Cash and Black Sabbath: The same situation, Rubin let them be and then just engineered everything. Alice needs a producer who challenges him, who pushes him beyond the limits (In fact, every artist needs a pr...
