Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

I also passed one of those touts outside the Nick Cave gig at the Hydro, but equally saw a guy getting knocked back by the security, possibly with a ticket bought from a tout though I can't be sure. It's ridiculous that touts like that were allowed to hang around at all. Anybody see the fiasco of th...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album

I was pondering when I last played a new Alice album from start to end on repeated listens and it's definitely over 20 years ago. It's a far more interesting release than I was expecting. The vast number of references to his past songs, both by name and melody, show what a missed opportunity W2MN wa...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album

The live tracks are just stale and redundant. They could have easily had his band show up in the studio and play six obscure songs ( Give The Rats what they want ) Roses on White Lace or whatever in half a day and make the hardcore feel good about buying a double cd. Excellent idea, that would have...

Re: Original Band to play mini-set on Mainland UK shows

Just watched the piece flagged up on the news page about the restoration of Glen's old SG. Very wishful thinking here, but it would be superb if Ryan Roxie played that very guitar for the original band encore.

This will probably be the most excited I've been at an Alice gig since last century. Absolutely brilliant news.

I liked that reference a lot. Other than that, the song doesn't excite me at all.

Re: ACG Nashville reunion

After watching this performace I think that they should go out on at least a small tour of select cities/venues. At the very least they should put together a full 90 to 120 minute live show (even if it's a one-off) to be recorded and released in cd/dvd format. It would be a great way for all of the...

Re: If ACG toured without Alice

I'd go in hopes of hearing some lesser played gems - Long Way To Go, Luney Tune, or Caught In a Dream. Luney Tune to me, and quite a few others I think, has near holy grail status when it comes to hearing it live. I've resigned myself to it never happening though. Revisiting My Stars or Hard Hearte...

Re: If ACG toured without Alice

At Sickcon? From my notes it was: I Want Two / Having The Time Of My Life / Vampire Night / Diner Girl / Love You Too Much / Snakepit Boogie / The Joke's On You / She Was A Bad Girl / The Real Thing / Fallen Angel / Dennis Bass Solo / Alma Mater / Grand Finale / Caught In A Dream / (Don't Fear) The...

Re: If ACG toured without Alice

The very sad thing is that the original guys just don`t have the pulling power that Alice does. I remember when we did Sickcon. Sickcon sold out, based on several factors (convention/added value, only UK show etc) BUT when BDS added a few more shows around Sickcon they struggled to sell tickets. Of...

Re: If ACG toured without Alice

Not sure how viable a tour by the ACG would be - given their are still tickets left for this Sundays show - they would have to think carefully about venue size etc - having said that I would probably go The very sad thing is that the original guys just don`t have the pulling power that Alice does. ...

Re: If ACG toured without Alice

I'd definitely go and see them. Would probably prefer an unknown vocalist that could do the songs justice instead of someone famous in their own right who would be more of a distraction than anything else.

I'm genuinely surprised that so many tickets would have gone this far in advance of the actual date. I won't dispute the figure though, you've got a source and I'm basically guessing based on prior events.

Re: Advertising and ticket sales

I've no idea about why there's a lack of advertising, but the claim that the Glasgow gig is nearly sold out is as credible as the pronouncements of the current President of the United States. If more than a third of the tickets have been sold to actual punters at this time I'll be very surprised.
