Re: Solo Slash

Baby Can't Drive is not on itunes tracklist for this release. Did it not make the final cut?

Re: Men at Work lawsuit - Alice question

Thanks DA. I have to say after a couple of listens, it's a pretty good match. I haven't heard Kookaburra since the kids use to watch that good ole purple dinosaur, Barney. I wouldn't have put it together on my own and I don't know what all was said in the court case, but to me it could very ...

Re: Men at Work lawsuit - Alice question

I listened to the Hendrix song. I would agree that the song and Elected have like sounding notes and chords. But I think the comparison is like the other examples given, similar but not necessarily an intentional copy of the other. DA- Is there any place we can here the song that Men At Work suppose...

Re: Men at Work lawsuit - Alice question

I think there is a huge similarity between Joe Satriani's "If I Could Fly" and Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" (which Coldplay got taken to court for). I also always thought that "Knucklehead" by Iggy Pop has the same guitar riff as "No More Mr. Nice Guy" just for a few seconds at the beginning, 6 seconds...

Re: SHOCKER-Alice Not nominated again! but.............

There may be no sinister conspiracy at all, other than personal taste. I don't think it was really implied that there was a "sinister conspiracy" exactly as that seems a bit severe. On the other hand, I find the "personal taste" theory an insufficient explanation. As has been explained on these Hal...

Re: SHOCKER-Alice Not nominated again! but.............

>Tomorrow it could be listed as Leo Sayer or Stephen Bishop or even Andy Gibb !! Ahh- "When I Need You", "On and On", and "I Just Wanna Be Your Everything"- 3 classics that should be in everyones music library! *jk* Maybe we need not try to dig so deeply into the reasons for this snub. Alice...

Re: My Aces and Ales pix

Great pics, NSP! I find it particularly interesting to see Alice with his hand in his pocket. Not that it's strange to put one's hand in one's pocket. But I've never seen Alice do it before. I only have seen the onstage "Alice". Not the more relaxed Alice the "man". He seems to do it a lot when he'...

Re: ACG v anybody else!

Monster Dog. Interesting! It would be great to be able to listen to such a rehersal live... I am not a technical sort, with this type of stuff, but I can see how percussion could take a lead in keeping things 'tight' I can't speak for the rest of my crew, but for me it was fascinating. We could see...

Re: ACG v anybody else!

Last year when our hotel room was right behind the stage and the band was rehearsing "Feminine Side" (before it was actually put into the show)Eric seemed to be pointing out the direction for the band on that song. He would stop and start the song and comment to the other members, sometimes with a c...

Re: Need help Cooper fans

Also I think Former Lee Warmer fits, as well as Feed My Frankenstein, Lullaby, Years Ago, The Awakening, Millie and Billie, Tag, You're it, Prince of Darkness, Gail, Wind-Up Toy, Pick Up the Bones. As you can probably tell, Monster Dog was going more for the Halloween specific and I'm thinking more...

Re: Need help Cooper fans

I don't know if there are 2 discs worth of songs good for Halloween, but there are the obvious choices: Keepin Halloween Alive, Sick Things, I Love the Dead, Welcome to my Nightmare, Black Widow, He's Back, Hands of Death, This House is Haunted, Zombie Dance, Wake The Dead. Maybe one could throw in ...
