Re: Rise - First reviews

the love of music and creativity are the devices which can lead you to wealth. I've yet to meet an artist, actor, musician who DIDN'T want to be successful and wealthy. The Clash. Mick Jones has a net worth of 25 million. Joe Strummer at time of death had a new worth of 4 million Point made but thi...

Re: Rise - First reviews

So anyway, it appears that the majority on here are in favour of Rise, recognise it as a positive move for Alice and think it's some of his best work for quite some time, whether as a solo project or not. I've seen the HV twice now, once in Glasgow and once in Italy. Both were really enjoyable and v...

Re: Rise - First reviews

Dadascot speaks sense. The argument over this is worthless. Alice is involved in a project, similar to Peter and the Wolf or whatever else he has done outside the confines of the Alice Cooper show that he tours and records albums under but not outside the confines of Alice Cooper the individual who ...

Im guessing UK sales have surpassed 8000.
Yep. You gotta be realistic nowadays. If the album gets 100k plus globally it would probably be ok nowadays.

Re: Kimmel live

Definite missed cue but after that I thought the track was excellent. Heroes was surprisingly good with JDs voice coming through loud and clear and JP doing a fine job too. As for Alice on guitar...he was strumming away at a ridiculous speed sometimes. If he is playing then give it volume and make i...

Re: Rise - First reviews

I remember saying in 2017 that I would wait and see how HV evolves to see if it has legs as a real band. It absolutely does! Love the album. Listened twice through on a plane so didn't get the full production but the music is certainly there and I got a few major surprises. I wasn't expecting Congra...

Re: UK Ticket Sales

Cardiff sold out. Birmingham and London with only a few tickets left. Aberdeen and Brighton slightly behind. Clearly proving that with or without the original band Alice is still pulling a very healthy crowd in the UK. In Europe even the rock meets classic dates next year look to be selling really w...

is there any airplay for this single so far ? any attention given to it in charts ?
Don't know if I've just got lucky but I've listened to planet rock twice in the last few days and it was on both times. Neither were on NWAC.

Re: COULD BOND HAVE SAVED ALICE COOPER?

Always carried the thought that connecting Alice Cooper's image at that time to the slick more mainstream profile of the Bond franchise was a step too far. Maybe after WTMN, but not when Alice was still killing babies, loving the dead and singing about his muscle of love.

Bought 7" and 12" as I was chuffed to hell that they had taken the time to do this and to mention Glasgow too. Remember not liking it much at the time and wondering how quickly it had been thrown together.

Re: The AOR 45's v The Black Out 45's

Wasn't aware that Step stepped back which would clearly have been an impact. Imo AOR was indeed a mistake. Yes the strategy was clearly there from WTMN yes the singles were a success and yes they kept coming but the success reduced and the world moved on. If they had been closer to upcoming trends t...

UK Ticket Sales

Am I wrong or are we heading for a sellout UK tour? Certainly looks to be the case for 5 of the gigs in the next couple of weeks. Number 6 isn't too far behind and 7 (Leeds) is lagging but making good progress.

When was the last time that happened?

Re: The AOR 45's v The Black Out 45's

"WB pulled the plug on Alice--no more money--no more nothing. Over and done. The single never stood a chance. The only reason Dada got made was due to the contact and Ezrin and Shep I think helped financially to get the album finished. WB didn't even want the album, but had to release it once it was...

Re: SPECIAL FORCES

It would. Sure Alice and co. we're indulging in the substances of the day and memories are flaky at best. Sure there is probably a level of regret, embarrassment and pain from the period that some would choose not to revisit but it's quite an achievement as to how so many people have said so little ...

I enjoyed the article in the Daily Mail on the HV and about Johnny Depp "rocking out with HIS band" and dating some 23 year old dancer while HIS band played in LA and Las Vegas. I think the article did mention Alice Cooper. :smack: Usual Daily Mail trash gossip journalism but are they not right in ...

Re: Hollywood Vampires "We Gotta Rise" Live - at The Greek Theatre 2019

It really does sound just like the Vindaloo song. :) Happy to be corrected but wasn't that basic "vindaloo" melody line around BEFORE the song? IWasn't it a football chant long before.. which they used for the song. If not, it's a complete lift as it's pretty much identical. And the fart gag is jus...
