Re: The sound of A

Video worked for me as it gives the song its own platform which I didn't think would happen. Having said that, I've absolutely no idea of the purpose of the video as I don't know how these help the profile of an artist like Alice nowadays. I can't see it gaining much if any airplay on TV anywhere so...

Re: Eyes of AC vs. Paranormal.......

I lost them after The Wall, all sounded the same to me. Just couldn't see the progression. Still like to listen to the odd track but that's it.

Re: Glasgow meet-up?

Five days since Glasgow and World Needs Guts stands out as a great memory along with the general impression that the band were on top form. ACG was simply sublime. It really was the best of everything. Just wish i''d done London too..

Re: Glasgow meet-up?

Saw the curtains smouldering away at the end but hadn't seen what happened before. Great gig. Crowd was subdued for a long time and it took a while to fill up but in the end the place came alive and the gig was excellent. Loved to see ACG clearly enjoying themselves and to see more interplay between...

Ancient white LITD T-shirt with the eves on a sleeve. Row 6 so in a different place altogether but may catch you in the foyer somewhere. My SF shirt has shrunk so much it would fit a small dog now...

Re: Glasgow meet-up?

I'll be at lebowskis bar in Argyle St near the hydro early afternoon. Grabbing food across the road @ 4:30 then either back to the pub for an hour or wander down to the hydro for @6:30 ish.

Glasgow

24hrs to go. Can't afford to do any other uk gigs this year but this will do. 45 years since Alice first came to Glasgow and I wasn't allowed to go at age 12. 35 years since he came to Glasgow for the second time and I saw him for the first time, magical. Seen him every time I could since then and o...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

Had the same feelings jram but doing my best to get over it now. Instead of being able to curtain off another part of the venue the ticketing shambles means the place is going to have empty seats dotted all over which will do nothing for the atmosphere in many areas. Added to the all seated crowd th...

Re: Which three songs?

Can we have 1.5 each? Fireball, just thinking that this is the best he has done for 20+ years so I'd have to pick that over all the earlier favourites. Last tune of the main set would see a mood change, low lights, smoke and Titanic Overture played by the new band but half way through the old band p...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

Did you read the government response to it? Already decided it's not going to happen. Actually, I agree that you can't stamp this out yet as there are so many different systems in place to sell tickets varying.from the traditional ticket books to the stuff we are talking about here which needs ID bu...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

Yep. Part of this is a really simple con. 1. Fake the number of tickets sold 2. Push the punters to look on your scalping sites for a decent seat. 3. Keep the pressure on them when they are browsing with helpful messages like "tickets selling fast", "only a few remaining" "11 people looking right no...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

And to rub salt in the wounds another couple of hundred tickets went on sale today for Glasgow. Seats scattered all over the venue from front to back. Just don't understand the logic of doing this.

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

I certainly think the seats down the front in Glasgow have to be related to the premium priced offerings and the remaining unsold tickets are now being sold off at normal prices. For that, you can probably blame whoever sets up the deal for these tickets i.e. Promoter. The Hydro has a habit of gradu...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

I took normal price tickets at the start and decided to keep looking to see what happened as I knew the game and was prepared to take the chance something would come up. I paid @£7 booking fee per original ticket then and then another £6 to sell on Getmein and then another booking fee to buy the new...

Re: MANCHESTER 15/11

It's just happened in Glasgow as well. @100 now on sale between 5th and 10th row right in front of the stage. They had already chipped in a couple of extra batches over the last 2-3 months with the largest batch of nearly 300 added much further back in the venue a few weeks ago. Site currently showi...

Re: Goes To Hell........

Great album - gotta dance and I am the coolest are the best tracks for me. Nothing else falls below a good rating. As a follow up to WTMN it was never going to hit the same level but it was close. I spent the whole of the summer in the house with an illness so I watched Wimbledon and the cricket wit...

Re: Why BBB did not work out

Remember "The Ballad of Alice Bowie" by Cheech and Chong ( bet I spelt that wrong)? That's how too many people viewed things even then. Other than the real fans most folk I knew saw Bowie and Alice (and Bolan for that matter) in the same way - both had a great band behind them but the front man was ...
