Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Alice got his way to bring Kane back too. But...in the end..the final product is Shep's call. It's all about return on investment and the safest way to maximize the return. Alice is in no way a puppet. I don't know why this is such a surprise to people as it's been this way nearly forever. Shep's t...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Shep has final say on all aspects of everything Alice. Alice trusts him that much. Bob has final say in the studio and which songs are picked for the albums and who plays on them. The whole of Alice Cooper in 2023 is the three of them. With Shep being the one making the final decisions on everythin...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Nope, with all due respect you ASSUMED that, but it is not what I said. I said Nita advocated for songs from Constrictor and Raise Your Fist and Yell. That doesn't mean she called the shots or made the final decision. Advocate means make a recommendation which is exactly what she did. Those are her...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Speaking of the drums regarding the Constrictor album. On an interview on Sirius XM last year, Kane Roberts mentioned that there was some talk of bringing Anton Fig in to play drums for that album as well but due to time (maybe budget too), they went with drum machines on that album and then of cour...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

They don't CHOOSE the songs, but they can always put forward suggestions. It isn't like the band never talk to Alice! Duh. Obviously. ;) But the other post made it sound like they played those songs, because Nita said to play those songs. But still, I don't see why a producer of an album would have...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Not exactly true. Every tour (Ryan Roxie has said this in the past), each member of the band is told to list three songs they want to play, sort of a wish list. Nita advocated for stuff like Roses on White Lace, etc. She has stated that her favorite albums are Constrictor and Raise Your Fist and Ye...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

Plus I love all she adds the element of playing some of the Constrictor/Raise Your Fist and Yell era songs. For many years, I wanted to hear a couple of those being brought back to the set and she has provided that. How exactly has she provided that??? It's not like the members of the touring band ...

Re: Alice's Band Mates: An Appreciation

I can honestly say Nita is my favorite guitarist Alice has ever had and he always has stellar bands. I personally, as a fan of a lot of very hard rock and metal, love the shredding style and if you listen to her solo albums there is a lot more "feel" in her playing than many realize. With Alice and ...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

Outside of Alice himself, Nita is the main reason I still enjoy going to the shows. Her playing allowed songs from Constrictor and Raise Your Fist and Yell (Two of my all-time favorite Alice albums) to be played. I love her playing style which has a lot more "feel" in it than people realize but som...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

New review https://metalstorm.net/pub/review.php?review_id=18891 Interesting, that review 100 percent was exactly my thoughts on the new album. I love solo Alice and legitimately like or love almost all the albums but this one fell short. It has some moments here and there and I have tried giving i...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

I don't consider Road a 'failure' at all. Indeed, for me, it's Cooper's most enjoyable album since Brutal Planet . Stoopid, catchy, and back to basics - The Ramones built an entire career on that - it's a hoot. Simplistic lyrics? Well, so what; some of the best pop songs ever have those. And that's ...

Re: If You Could Interview Alice...

I would ask him if he would ever consider doing say a limited amount of "Deep Dive" shows where he played only deeper tracks such as doing say four or five songs off of the early 80s albums. Obviously not a long tour or anything but maybe say 5-10 cities.

Re: "Road" - Reviews

I'm thinking more musical failure. This band was touted as his greatest touring band and there's just nothing there. It's just bog standard riffs and apart from one song nothing stands out. Lyrically it's a complete dud and production wise it's sterile an lifeless. There is not one song here I coul...

Re: Hypothetical Question-Would You Be Okay With Another Heavy Alice Album

I would like to hear a new heavier album with a story behind it. I prefer more Alice's solo years because of the different styles. From the Inside, WTMN, Zipper, Dada, Raise, Trash, Brutal Planet, The last temptation...every album has it's own character, it's own sound. The ACG was great 50 years a...

Hypothetical Question-Would You Be Okay With Another Heavy Alice Album

I would very surprised if this were to ever occur again but one common theme I am seeing is whether you are more of a Solo Alice fan like I am than the original band (as great as they are) or vice versa, many fans have grown tired of the Ezrin garage band formula. Some of the material is good but yo...

72. Starting in 2000. Including 16 Hollywood Vampires shows.
Wow, that is a really impressive number of Hollywood Vampires shows in a relatively short time (When you consider number of shows they have done etc). You must really like them.

Re: Is Alice’s future outside the US and Canada?

I’ve been looking back on chart performance since ACG times. Yes, I know they aren’t reliable etc but they do measure to some degree and you can certainly get trends from them. Also had a look at the size of venues he plays and there seems to be a big difference between the US & Canada and Europe n...

Re: Road in the charts

It’s difficult to answer this as there are so many variables. One thing that’s certain though is that nearly all acts are working on increased costs of 20% - 30% or more to tour since Covid so, unless they can simply increase the ticket price to compensate, they have needed to change how they manag...
