Re: The Best Alice lyric

I saw on Facebook yesterday that someone suggested the lyrics from Pain, and I have to agree. And I'm the loudest one laughing at the saddest wake I'm the salt in the sweat on the cuts of the slaves I was the wound in the side while Jesus prayed I was the filthiest word at the vandalized grave That...

Re: Being An Alice Cooper Fan in the Early 70s

People who weren’t there can’t imagine how big Alice Cooper was in Britain in 72/73. I remember at school the local vicar who was quite trendy, saying in morning assembly that he had been listening to the Billion Dollar Babies album and referenced ‘I Love the Dead’, saying that even God loved Alice ...

Re: Tribute Bands

Hi Dennis, The question about a Swedish band called Billion Dollar Babies made me think about tributes. My opinion is that the Swedish band are doing no harm, in fact they list Alice Cooper as an influence so any fan of theirs will almost certainly spend some money on AC music. I am aware of 3 or 4...

ITV Breaking the band Alice Cooper

They have approached insiders for interviews about the break up of the band, this could be car crash TV, actors have been casted.

Re: Promoters and Alice Cooper

I have no problem with you chipping in but only Dennis can answer this. No negativity at all. It's pretty common knowledge here how big a fan of the band I am. I don't need to prove anything. Dennis brought up that it was just as they were catching their stride it was over. I have never questioned ...

Re: Alice w/Elvis

Much has been made of Alice meeting Elvis at the Las Vegas Hilton, but the year various sources cite is wrong. From my extensive research i have nailed the date as to when Alice, Liza Minnelli, Linda Lovelace and Chubby Checker met the King of Rock n' Roll as being on January 30th 1974.‬ Liza Minnel...

Re: Promoters and Alice Cooper

If it is a tour with just Alice, the remaining three and a lead guitarist I call BS. I really don't want to see you guys play 30 minutes and then watch his show. I want a full show not you guys just hitting your stride and off you go. I know there was some concern about Michael's health but, apart ...

Re: Billion Dollar Baby Book Autographed

I’ve seen images of the book, Billion Dollar Baby, by Bob Greene on the internet (hard cover version) signed by all the members of the band. It’s quite obvious by the comments with the autographs that none of the band is really happy with the book; to put it mildly. How did the autographing of the ...

“Love, cuts deep as a laser” Ivan Dryer and Alice Cooper

Hi Dennis, Years ago i was reading about Ivan Dryer the creator of the laser light show, he gave an interview on a website where he claimed: “There was one friend with a technical background, Charlie McDanald, who saw some potential and began to work with me as my new partner. So in 1972 we set abou...

Re: Alice Cooper in the 70’s Book

Is that the strings? I think that’s real strings, I actually have a real Mellotron as well and I used to think it might be before but I’m pretty sure it’s not. I’m trying to think of a word to describe how the mellotron sounds compared to real instruments and the only thing that comes to mind is “p...

Re: Flying Tigers

There was a band from Japan called The Spiders, here is a track from their 5th album released in March 1967. https://youtu.be/vD8lBbk9NCs Oh, right. I neglected to mention the Japanese band. That's why we changed our name to the Nazz. Plus of course you mentioned it in chapter 2 of your book which ...

Re: I Hate You

I really dig I Hate You, it’s my second favourite track on the album. I’m a bit biased but Social Debris is my favourite! Thanks. It's especially cool that Neal arranged to have Rick Tedesco play Glen's restored SG on the track. And I played the main guitar part on a white SG like Glen's that belon...

Re: Alice Cooper in the 70’s Book

Am I right in thinking that the choral sound that happens at about 5:11 is a Melotron? Is that the strings? I think that’s real strings, I actually have a real Mellotron as well and I used to think it might be before but I’m pretty sure it’s not. I’m trying to think of a word to describe how the me...

Re: Flying Tigers

I didn't know about another band called the Spiders, but perhaps they took on the name to help them get gigs after we became the Nazz, which also was a duplicate. Al Kooper once told me that we had no idea what we had done to his audiences. My favorite story came from cello player Yo Yo Ma who said...

Re: Flying Tigers

Wait..there were two Flying Tigers! Made me wonder how many performing artists called Alice Cooper were out there in the late 60's. Coulda led to some hilarious booking mix up's. But I guess that was the whole point of the name anyway. Dennis, thanks again for doing this for the fans. Much apprecia...

Re: Fields of regret

One of the most interesting things about Fields of Regret is that part of it was reworked on Killer, in fact when it was played live ( for example on the Chicago Underground boot some of which is on the Old School Boxset) you can hear that part of what became the middle instrumental section on Killer.
