Re: Breadcrumbs

Nothing in the post for me today so no too happy at all. Been streaming it all day though and really enjoying it for what it is and certainly think the Detroit sound is here, not just because of the choice of tracks. Agree the production is crisp and the voice is clear. Obviously no problem with tha...

Re: Australian Tour

My sister-in-law lives about 30k beyond Penrith. Two of her sons and some mates saw Alice at Penrith Panthers years ago and would have gone to see him any day before Queen. They have their Queen tickets though so that's 6 empty Alice seats.

Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

I like it that they used John Denver crowd noise to beef up the audience track. Someone in the studio had their tongue in their cheek. Babysquid where did you find this info? It's not on Wikipedia & I had been told that Cheap Tricks' @ Budokan had alternate audience noise also. Not on Wiki either! ...

Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

Lou Reed? Never really got it with him. Tried hard a couple of times but he passed me by. Hmmm, your name will also go on the list https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YMVPXmaKds Loved that programme. My grandfather was an ARP warden and admitted an uncanny likeness of behaviour to Hodges.

Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

Strangers in the Night - Saw them a few times and always a great show Live and Dangerous - Superb shows in Glasgow. Awesome at their peak. Made in Japan - One of my first albums after School's Out, Killer and Ziggy Stardust. Not a bad start to my album buying life.. Lou Reed? Never really got it wit...

Re: Flush the Fashion 40th Anniversary

Just listened to his own version on Spotify. RTB and/or Alice clearly re-modelled it a fair bit.

Re: Flush the Fashion 40th Anniversary

Really liked the album at the time but it quickly faded for me leaving only Talk Talk, Clones, Pain (absolutely love that track as it was real Alice to me) and Grim Facts as tracks I continued to play. Great to hear though that for those who came to Alice around or after this time it means more than...

Re: Small insight on the financials

You are confusing two different things. Meet and greet (fleece) cons the fan into thinking the artist gives two shits about them. They care only about your $. It's sad and the least rock n roll thing anyone could do. I don't know who is more pathetic the artist or the punter. The dam n thing nearly...

Re: Small insight on the financials

I'm guessing the meet and greet income would all be to Alice's so another top up on his pay check. Strikes me that if you can get this kind of gross income from what I'm guessing is a pretty small venue you still have a pretty profitable touring product even at this level and potentially another rea...

Small insight on the financials

Thought this might be interesting to folk like me who like the stats.

Re: New 10” record

You could well be right. Still, it's good to see the variety. Just back from my holidays and it was surprising but great to hear Who's Laughing Now and then The Sound of A on what sounded like a local Dutch radio station.

Re: New 10” record

I like it. A nice flat out rock E.P. Some of it reminds me of Iggy Pop. We are really getting a treat this year. New tour production with a great setlist and new music out of the blue. Can't argue with that. Great to see a variety of different recordings coming out in a short space of time (Phil Ca...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Poison is a well-written song compared to the majority of songs from that era, but even it is still lacking in musical integrity to me. I’d love to never have to hear it or the rest of the Trash again. Always bathroom break time when that comes around. Interesting how people like to make all these ...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Mary Ann is a steaming pile all of its own. Understood the humour of it but always put it at the bottom of the pile of the ACG era next to Sun Arise which I have never got at all. Bed of Nails has always been a favourite from that era. It's a point in time thing. BDB sounds awful to a lot of folk in...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Now booked Paris on the strength of the reviews so far and the atmosphere from the Paranormal Live album. Delighted to have My Stars in the set AND Bed of Nails. Surprised about Teenage Frankenstein but its good to see something from left field. Is there a list of all the songs that have never been ...

"the drummer" - loss of memory? Suppose he has only been there for eight years or so.
