I think he was really really trying to sing like Mick Jagger, especially in the first verse. Other than that I didn't really get the Stones vibe, except in the fact that alot of Stones songs have the same bluesy feel to them. Let me contradict myself here.... having listened to the song over and ov...

As much as it pains me to say it, this is probably the low point of the album for me. Sounds too much like a leftover from "Eyes". :(

This was my favorite song before I had even heard it, based on what people had said and the fact that it was co-written with Roxie. I stand by that after hearing it, even if Roxie doesn't actually play the guitar solo. (???) This song really reminds me of some of my favorite John Lennon solo stuff ...

Well, the story is very funny. The vocal is INCREDIBLE(there's one moment right at the end when I would SWEAR it was Cash "now I'm doing ten to life") but what really makes this track for me is the arrangement and guitar.
Score one for Roxie ;)

Well, it's just not grabbing me. Being in between "You Make Me Wanna" and "Jesse Jane" probably doesn't help it out for me.
I rated it very good, which it is...but it doesn't have enough excitement to really draw me into the story.

This is rock and roll. Pure and simple. Crunchy and sweet.
I am still not terribly crazy about the lyrics about J-Lo, but it does convey the point.

Gosh, Splinter Cell, you certainly are a buzzkill!!!! I'm on listen #4. I picked Very Good...can't really chalk it all the way up to Classic. However, I do think it is one of the most "representational" Alice albums...a little something from all the different facets of the Coop. (like a "di...

Nice brutal planet-y feel....truly down and dirty guitar solo, and great vocal.
Have to admit I didn't pay close enough attention to the lyrics but I did catch bee-al-za-baby! :p

Well, I listened to it on the Ross show as well...it definitely SOUNDS better! I like the Zigzag keyboards alot, and of course the guitar solo. ;)
But I have to say that I still think it's just plain SILLY!!

For me, Alice is like a naughty uncle....I'll crtitique him amongst "the family", but if someone outside the family says anything mean I'll jump at their throat. I have always assumed that on this messageboard, we are ALL coming from the perspective of loving Alice for who he is and what he does an...

Alice needs to hire professional songwriters and stop writing with session musicians. He needs to do this FAST. I take offence to your "session musicians" comment...the guys Alice is writing with now are his BAND, and have been with him for varying amounts of years. And you can't pin the cheesiness...

I liked this one...especially the drum sound. And the fact that it sounds like one of my favorite AC/DC songs. AND the way he says "cas-ter-ate". :p

as they used to say on "In Living Color"--"hated it!"
really...aside from the naughty mazaratti line, this is definitely a throwaway track for me. I might feel differently when I hear it on a better sound system, though.
