Re: Welcome to my nightmare - new 2lp + SACD

what version of welcome to my nightmare will it be do we think? i think the dvd audio version is superior to the standard album. some of the different edits etc. I’m pretty sure it’s the original album version. If they were releasing it with different mixes , takes, edits that would be a major sell...

I'd prefer another DaDa.
There can only be one DaDa! But I hear what you’re saying. I’d totally welcome something of a more experimental nature.

Re: Road in the charts

I wonder what type of income Alice makes from European touring and if it more/less than that in the USA. I know taxes are off the charts in most European countries so I'm wondering how much of it Alice and company comes home with. I'm sure it's worth his while as he keeps hitting foreign soil but I...

Re: CHEMICAL REACTION ( Rating The Un released and Bonus Cuts )

More cheese I'm guessing. i'm sure its what you class as more cheese, but i tell you what, its a prime bit of cheddar that i adore. Nothing wrong with it if you like it and it’s not hurting anyone! But I think you’re confusing good cheddar with that American homogenous plastic stuff that comes in i...

Re: "Road" - Reviews

“The remaining fans largely supported Detroit Stories and two years later some jumped off the bandwagon for Road which is actually a better album. Why is that?“ I can’t speak for everyone but in my case it was that I thought Detroit Stories was a disappointment and that the snippets of songs made av...

Re: Road in the charts

I've read many times over the years he that " he has to play the hits ". Why would he change what he is doing because of Road? Not to be too flippant, but the answer is "Because he just released a new album." Yeah, he needs to play his hits, but not playing a single track off of an album you've bee...

Re: Songs You Would Like to Hear Remade?

Generally I’m not interested in artists revisiting their past glories but I did find the acoustic interpretations on that mini audible biography a nice touch and most of the songs worked really well.

Re: "Road" - Reviews

In all fairness some songs here and there is not the same as making a full album. I do, once again, have high hopes. I don't have any expectations. They've done more than just a couple of songs together in the last years and i wasn't blown away from them. When hell comes home - it's nice, dark but ...

Re: Road in the charts

He's just released a mediocre album that has bombed on the charts - he should just keep repeating that? Does anybody really think that "Big Goodbye" wouldn't have been a better pre-release track than "I'm Alice"? I mean, a person shouldn't need a focus group to tell them something this obvious, but...

Re: Road in the charts

Not good. It's an uphill battle to begin with considering the state of rock music these days. Three things that might help the next release 1) Get Alice in the news.I don't mean Twitter mob bs either. Every time Ozzy does anything Sharon gets some story trending in the news. "Ozzy is sick" "Ozzy ch...

Re: Alice says he had nothing to do with "Killer" and "School's Out" remasters

I doubt it would take months remastering an album. I think the Steve Hoffman ones were done in a day. Two at the most. Longer than that and it would start to get cost prohibitive. That’s Steve Hoffman’s time. He’s not involved with the conception of the project, sorting out licensing for the record...

Re: Alice says he had nothing to do with "Killer" and "School's Out" remasters

This is not the first remastering of these two albums. Steve Hoffman did both some years back. Most artists aren't involved with remasters. Ezrin wasn't involved with the Hoffman ones. Michael Bruce offered to be there for one and Hoffman turned him down. For Alice it's not worth the time and money...

“ While it's clearly the star power of Depp that pulls in the most people” Yet I wonder how successful it would be if it was just Johnny Depp. This isn’t his first go at being taken seriously as a musician, in fact I recall him writing that music was always his first love and that was how he origina...

Glen on My Stars

Hi Dennis, I hope you’re doing well. I was reading the inner sleeve of the recent School’s Out reissue and a comment of Alice’s made me wonder. I know Alice isn’t always the most reliable source for information but his comments about Glen’s playing on My Stars made me want to ask the question which ...

Re: Decades - Chris Sutton's New Book on Alice in the 80s

Just finished reading this. Great read. Like a lot of you I was mostly interested in the “black out” years but actually found myself most fascinated with the “metal” period instead, especially the inter relationships and different attitudes with the touring crews. It makes you realise how much attit...
