Re: Alice appearing on upcoming MC5 tribute album
Guessing Wayne Kramer will be on the track ( paying tribute ) to himself and whoever played on the Road track.
The Great Zal Cleminson is on the album which is unusual as I thought he had retired years ago.
Another Alice Cover......

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023
I was waiting for the vinyl to arrive before giving my opinion. Amazon failed to deliver so I ended up cancelling and going to HMV instead. I know you are holding your breath waiting for my critique so here goes. The main failings for me is that the album is lacking diversity. 'I'm Alice ' is a mid...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
I’ve listened to Road more times as a new release than I did with Detroit Stories. The thing that ruined DS for me was putting out a lot of the songs on Breadcrumbs. Even though the versions on DS were mixed better, it felt more like a compilation with new songs added in. I’m enjoying this so far e...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
Pitkin, I hope this doesn't sound like a slam because it isn't my intention, but it comes down to some of these reviewers being professional. A professional review does have to take their own personal bias out and focus on the music. For example (and I know you aren't a professional reviewer) but e...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
Considering it came from a man who wore dresses, make up etc it's hardly surprising. We are living in a Country that is banning Dr Seuss Hop On Pop for Gods sake. His comments were fanning the flames of hatred. I believe there is at least one transgender member here that posts. It must be very hurt...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
How can a review not to be personal? Look at the potshots in context. There are songs on here that are just blatantly sexist rubbish. It's not the 70's anymore. I take it that you through out all those old "sexist" albums that you own, right? The whole protecting children thing is just ridiculous. ...

Re: Song Writing Credits And Percentages
It doesn’t work like that, as the publisher gets 50%. On School’s Out and I’m Eighteen each band member gets 10% of the performing share of royalties (radio play etc..) with 2 publishers taking the other 50% (BMG 33.34% and Universal/MCA Music 16.66%). As for mechanical royalties (record sales) the...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
I saw Neil McCormack's review this morning. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, that one was unfortunate because it was fairly obvious Alice's recent rant regarding the Transgender movement did him no favors on that review (what that had to do with the actual album itself I don't know). He...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
I tried. I got to 'Go Away' and did as I was told. I just can't anymore. Alice lyrics which were once a highlight of any of his albums are so redundant and juvenile now that I just have no interest in anymore new content. Luckily we have so many old albums to listen to. To quote Tommy Lee Jones on ...

Re: "Road" - Reviews
Neil McCormick gives Road plenty of slaps in The Telegraph . Headline: Alice Cooper scrapes the barrel with macho clichés and misogyny. Ouch! As it's often paywalled, here's a taste: How listeners respond may depend on how they feel about a gnarly septuagenarian carrying on like a priapic adolescen...

Re: Vampyre Cosmetics
Hard not to see the irony coming from a 75 year old man with shoulder length dyed black hair and women's make up who dressed like a woman and sometimes painted his nails black. One of the first ( if not first ) gender bending rock stars who was about to engage in a make up venture manages to go full...

Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023
Well it's all over you tube so just gave it a listen and I like less songs on this than I did on the poor Detroit Stories. The only stand out is the eerie sounding 100 More Miles. I had high hopes for Rules Of The Road which has a catchy chorus and a nice solo from Wayne Kramer but then Alice channe...

Re: DaDa as a Concept Album?
always a difficult album for me. Lyrically it borders on brilliant but musically it falls short. Synthesizers definitely doesn’t help. If he wrote something like that now and with the band he has now, they could have nailed it. Please god no! That would be like putting a bull in a china shop. I lov...
