Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Seemed to be an argument before the show started with row A people being less the happy with a row AA in front of them and staff were giving mixed messages which didn't help. I was in block A to the side but on the row behind the disabled and a staff member suggested I get my kids noticed by Alice,...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Yes, a great night. Chris White did a great job as well. Hadn't expected to see him but he fitted in well. Seemed to be an argument before the show started with row A people being less the happy with a row AA in front of them and staff were giving mixed messages which didn't help. Enjoyed MC50 more ...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Tripped over this when checking out the venue for Aberdeen. Brief and a bit random but thought I'd share. About 2:10 - 3:00 into the clip https://youtu.be/QCP6EA6aYu8

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

My Aberdeen tickets came through about three weeks ago, earlier than expected so avoided the panic period of the last week or so before the gig.

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Absolutely right. I've mistakenly thought it was BSR since booking the tickets and telling my wife she was getting to see Scott Gorham for the first time in 30 yrs. Still getting it wrong with a hangover this morning... Still, a great show.

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Paris last night. Great crowd of over 5000 in a good venue and a fantastic atnosphere with most standing. I'm Back was a real hit but to be fair everything went well including My Stars was but Bed of Nails went down a storm, just behind Dead Babies, Poison and Schools Out. Black Star Riders supporte...

Re: Breadcrumbs

Interesting to read the comments re Detroit. From my perspective 20/20 just keeps getting stronger to the point that I'd be delighted if he applied the same level of re-invention to an ACAS track. Would surely be an interesting outcome.

Re: Alice in the 2010s

Personally, I'd swap the Vampires albums but apart from that I'd agree overall. You could widen this out a bit and reflect on a pretty productive period overall - all the other side projects such as Jesus Christ Superstar and Peter and the Wolf and guesting on other acts work, the ongoing work for S...

Re: Breadcrumbs

This version of Detroit adds nothing. The original with that great solo was one of the best songs on Eyes. While I like the idea behind this project I don't like what I am hearing. Alice s voice is thin and raspy and the players sound grey an d jaded. Ezrins production again is lacking. That Seeger...

Re: Breadcrumbs

Nothing in the post for me today so no too happy at all. Been streaming it all day though and really enjoying it for what it is and certainly think the Detroit sound is here, not just because of the choice of tracks. Agree the production is crisp and the voice is clear. Obviously no problem with tha...

Re: Australian Tour

My sister-in-law lives about 30k beyond Penrith. Two of her sons and some mates saw Alice at Penrith Panthers years ago and would have gone to see him any day before Queen. They have their Queen tickets though so that's 6 empty Alice seats.

Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

I like it that they used John Denver crowd noise to beef up the audience track. Someone in the studio had their tongue in their cheek. Babysquid where did you find this info? It's not on Wikipedia & I had been told that Cheap Tricks' @ Budokan had alternate audience noise also. Not on Wiki either! ...

Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

Lou Reed? Never really got it with him. Tried hard a couple of times but he passed me by. Hmmm, your name will also go on the list https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YMVPXmaKds Loved that programme. My grandfather was an ARP warden and admitted an uncanny likeness of behaviour to Hodges.

Strangers in the Night - Saw them a few times and always a great show Live and Dangerous - Superb shows in Glasgow. Awesome at their peak. Made in Japan - One of my first albums after School's Out, Killer and Ziggy Stardust. Not a bad start to my album buying life.. Lou Reed? Never really got it wit...

Re: Flush the Fashion 40th Anniversary

Just listened to his own version on Spotify. RTB and/or Alice clearly re-modelled it a fair bit.
