Re: A couple of gold nuggets recently unearthed

Yeah you're not wrong but I'm OK with that. In AC's case it was understandable. It was a choreographed show. Stunts, props needed to be executed on cue. Having stagnate set lists also facilitated Alice's excessive drinking too - helped him remember what song was next even if he couldn't remember all...

A couple of gold nuggets recently unearthed

I know discussion of this kind of stuff is not always welcomed here but I mean no harm and see it as a public service. Over on dime, a show from the 1977 Australian WTMN tour has been recently uploaded. Audio quality not super but I've never seen any recordings from this brief and unique tour. IMO A...

Re: Billion Dollar Belt ?

Sure this is necroposting but I just have to chime in here First off, as far as expensive memorabilia goes, for me, rarity or uniqueness is just one component to getting big dollars. I think you need some evidence/provenance. This belt surely is rare even unique but I've never seen or heard of exist...

Re: Paris Special 82

I see it a bit different. The bootleggers, while doing a sloppy job for the most part, are the only reason we have the material. If someone from the Alice camp actually kept good audio records, they could easily package and release this material and most all who are interested, would buy an Alice Ar...

Re: The Complete Failure of Good To See You Again

Since it's been on dvd I think I have only watched the concert footage option - I have no recollection if the dvd had the old film clips version included or the band comedy routines.

Re: The Complete Failure of Good To See You Again

I think you make some good points Mestreech. There does seem to be evidence to support Michael's claim. A product was turned in that was basically un-releasable. It was little short of a crime. Imagine what Penthouse thought when that Turkey was delivered. Again the blame falls on Shep. Done right ...

Re: The Complete Failure of Good To See You Again

getting the rights to all that old film footage would have been nightmarish and possibly too much money, so I can understand ditching that version. Just another drug and booze fueled vanity project but at least there's some audio and film documentation of the band during the height of their fame. Th...

Re: The Complete Failure of Good To See You Again

Very good questions that we'll never get to the bottom of. It would be interesting to know who and how much financing was arranged and procured for this project. The ideas and execution of the film is amateur hour. Some drunken and stoned ideas passed around by Alice/Dennis and friends? 16 mm makes ...

Re: Zappa's influence on Alice Cooper

Just like you can here Pink Floyd in Levity Ball or hear The Doors in Below Your Means, you can hear FZ in Changing Arranging - Who Are The Brain Police? But it's the ACG trying to be part of the Freak Scene where they were most trying to be like FZ. I suppose the version of Lay Down and Die, Goodby...

Re: Another 3 RHINO rocktober vinyl releases

I like the orange for GTH and if they use the Turquoise green that matches the FTI cover, that would be cool but brown for L&W? Unless they're trying to match the colour of actual whiskey - I would have expected white vinyl and save the brown for School's Out

Re: Long-time Alice Cooper artist Airic Brumitt needs help

Im not a regular listener ofStern so I had no idea about Scott the Engineer's situation. I'm familiar enough with the show to know what Scot the Engineer's politics were - I wonder if he has had a change of heart re: Health Care. Because he sure was a right prick about it.

Re: From the Inside

If this gets re-issued I would like to see something like an all new 5.1 mix of the album. DVD audio so you can get surround sound mix/new 2.0 mix/original flat transfer along with what ever bonus tracks may be lying about and maybe even a live show. Original tapes from the San Diego show - since th...

the stock Burbank label and the custom one with the lace bra and other stuff that I can't recall at the moment but I don't think it was so much original and re-issue but just some pressing plants had the custom labels and others didn't. A more rare variant would be the German pressings that use the ...

The album mix would not have worked well with mono AM radio.

I find the elected and UMW single mixes the most different from their album versions.

Re: Recent Purchases

Nice score on the School Days - here in Canada that album was not easy to get by the late seventies. I finally bought a used copy around 1985 paid $15 for it which I considered a good price. It's the one item I took to get signed at an in-store appearance AC did promoting TLT. What's the label on yo...
