Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day:LACE AND WHISKEY

I love about 3/4 of the record. Not a masterpiece, but It's Hot Tonight, Lace & Whiskey, King of the Silver Screen, I Never Wrote Those Songs & My God are all top rate Coop tracks that have endured throughout my 36yrs of following the man's career. It's uneven as hell, the sonics are terribly muddy ...

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day: ALICE COOPER GOES TO

I am a huge fan of GTH. It's the kitschy companion to WTMN. I love the diversity on this one & the production is fantastic. I really can't find a single dud on the entire thing. It's a shame the album never got its supporting tour. The stage show could've been massive. A top 5 Cooper album for me.

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day: MUSCLE OF LOVE

I've just always felt the album lacked a strong identity like its predecessors. Granted, I suppose the same could be said for L&W, but there's a feeling of less commitment or conviction in a lot of these songs. Going through the motions, as it were. There are a handful of cuts that I dig, like the t...

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day: ALONG CAME A SPIDER

Overall not a very impressive batch of tunes. Hate the production & I think this album has the all-time worst backing vocals on a Coop album. Dreadful.

Re: Worst Songs

There at least a couple of tracks from the last six albums that qualify as horrible, but as far as the other stuff, I'd have to go with NMLAYC, Damned If You Do, No Baloney Homosapiens, The Great American Success Story & Hell Is Living Without You for starters...

Re: From The Inside

My absolute favorite Coop album, period. Brilliant arrangements, lyrics & performances all the way around. Probably Alice's most character-driven concept album. What a movie this would've made!

Saw this when it aired & was completely puzzled, since I had never seen the Coop out of character up to that point.

Re: Under the bed before Nightmare Returns?

Yea, I placed Under The Bed right after I Am Made Of You. Seems to make sense to me anyway. I'd love to put Flatline in there somewhere too. Maybe just before Underture or I Gotta Ge Outta Here.

Re: Re-Sequencing W2MN

I totally agree with you about WTMN. That album seems so fragmented (albeit fantastic) that I could never even begin to assemble the songs into any sensible order.

Re-Sequencing W2MN

I've seen some talk about the flow (or perceived lack thereof) of the storyline on the new album. Having heard "Under The Bed" for the first time yesterday, I am a little puzzled as to why the song was merely a bonus track since it does seem to fit nicely into the story. I've seen mention of other t...

Just like a real "Runaway Train".
As acknowledged in my recap, I can see it's effectiveness but it just didn't blow me away.

Re: W2MN .. REVIEWED

My .02 just for the helluvit: With the long awaited arrival of W2MN, I once again feel compelled to review this beast while my impressions are fresh.  Let's get to this... Depending on what you love about Alice, this will either be an absolute abomination or a breath of fresh air.  I'm of the latter...

Re: iTunes Pre-Orders w/ Longer Samples (SPOILERS)

If this ends up being Alice's swan song...what a way to sign off! You still think this is Alice's last album? He has said that this WILL NOT be his last albums (I recommend you to watch the "Ask ALice" section in the NWAC site), he will keep recording and touring as long as he can, and man... he RE...

Re: iTunes Pre-Orders w/ Longer Samples (SPOILERS)

Wow. Just finally got a listen to the longer samples & even though WBW, DBBF & STRMB don't set my world on fire, the whole shebang as an ensemble is REALLY impressive. There's a cinematic feel happening & this would translate to film or stage so well. I'm excited to see the new production on the roa...

Re: W2MN - Audio samples of all songs - Big Spoiler Alert

Finally heard I Gotta Get Out Of Here in it's entirety. Gotta say I'm getting more stoked about the new album. The call response section at the end took me back to '76 & gave me one huge shit eating grin. I love that Alice has returned to using his clean voice more frequently instead of relying on h...

Re: W2MN - Audio samples of all songs - Big Spoiler Alert

Wow this one is truly all over the place eh? I'm digging most of it, but I will admit that a couple of them were a little awkward sounding. Granted, they're short clips, so hopefully in the proper context everything will rock. In any case, so glad Ezrin's kitchen sink influence has helped bring Alic...

Re: Nights with Alice Cooper

Given the reviews I've read & the diversity evident in the three tracks I've heard, even if this album isn't a total 5 star winner, I am glad to hear Alice going back to the eclectic approach of his classic records. I've felt pretty much since 1986 that his material has never really deviated much fr...
