The sound of A. I was thinking that the "A" could stand for either Armageddon or Ascension. The album has been pointed out to have strong Christian undertones, and there's two other songs dealing with the end of the world - fireball, and You and All of Your Friends.
The sound of A is in the air.

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
On the topic of the live tracks. To be honest - I haven't even listened to them yet. I really don't have any desire to listen to yet another live version of School's out, or Billion Dollar Babies done with his new band. I get it - those are the hits. The only way I REALLY want to hear live versions ...

Your top two favorite tracks off Paranormal, and why..
The Sound of A. This one is in league with exactly what I like about Alice Cooper the artist. It's haunting with that old organ sound, and howling lead guitar - very similar to the sound on Love it to Death (my favorite AC album). So, it's a natural for me to be attracted to this track. It's laid ba...

Re: When will there be a Paranormal album review
So you don't like the production or the album? I think this album is better than W2MN, but I do think it's far from a cohesive work and similar to W2MN in that respect. That coupled with some forgettable HV tunes, and I'm starting to think that maybe Alice would be better served with some younger t...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
Maybe my only beef is that he's drifting too far from his signature sound. I'm hearing ZZ Top, Pink Floyd, Ghost, and Nickleback when what I really want to be hearing is Alice Cooper. It's the price you pay when you litter an album with session musicians, and special guests. This is an excellent po...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
I wasn't expecting much - to be honest. With that being said, I'm finding I like this one much better then his previous efforts. I've been a harsh critic of his humor infused songs which border on novelty music, and thankfully he's restrained that a bit on the new album. There's a couple atmospheric...

Re: Ultimate ACG Reunion album: Battle Axe - ReCooperated
I think many fans are respectful of Battle Axe, but it's a challenging listen because of the piss poor production. There's potential there that wasn't properly fleshed out. Rerecording a few of those tracks would be worth it.

Re: If ACG toured without Alice
I'd go in hopes of hearing some lesser played gems - Long Way To Go, Luney Tune, or Caught In a Dream. Luney Tune to me, and quite a few others I think, has near holy grail status when it comes to hearing it live. I've resigned myself to it never happening though. Revisiting My Stars or Hard Hearte...

Re: New album update
The song I Love the Dead is one of the reasons Alice is held in high regards as a songwriter, and lyricist. It's just perfect on so many levels - as stated above. I'll Bite Your face Off is not even in the same league as far as the depth of the lyrics are concerned. If you're going make a comparison...

Re: New album update
I doubt it would ever happen, but I'd love to see Alice and the original guys work with Rick Rubin and do an album. Working with Rubin has worked pretty well for an increasingly long list of artists (Sabbath, Metallica, etc) in getting the artists back to closer to or back to their original headspa...

Re: New album update
The new song titles make me cringe - to be honest. When W2MN came out, I voiced my concerns about the Weird Al Yankovic humor on a few of the songs, and was torn apart on this page. However, I stand by my opinion. Turning bad jokes into songs is always a bad idea because any joke really only needs ...

Re: HOLLYWOOD VAMPIRES TRACK LISTING REVEALED
I was pretty excited when I first heard of this project, as tribute albums tend to be letdowns in general. The concept of Hollywood Vampires was pretty interesting, and the focus alone was enough to make this one something to look forward to. I assumed these covers would be handled with a bit of cla...

Re: Are There Any Fans That Prefer Alice's Solo Career
Judging by the Motley Crue tour set Alice seems to prefer the band material. Game Set and Match end of thread This is where there's an issue with fans of the original band.. When the majority of your setlist comes from that particular era, it would just seem proper (and logical) to perform it with ...

Hearing "Big Apple Dreaming" sampled into a Beastie Boys song (What Goes Around Comes Around) back in college was an unexpected surprise - being a fan of both artists.. The song sampled is 'It's Hot Tonight' is it not? Yes it is. Been awhile since I've pulled out Paul's Boutique.. It's Hot Tonight ...

Re: The BEST Alice Cooper song of all time!!!
ACG - Hard to beat the one two punch of Second Coming / Ballad of Dwight Frye. I'll say that combo is more representative of the ACG then Halo of Flies... Alice solo.. Like it or not - it's "Welcome to My Nightmare". That song is the essence of the character, and the perfect signature song.. Alice h...
