Re: Are Alice's Touring Days Over?
If there was ever a band cut out to do a residency in Las Vegas it’s Alice Cooper, he could do a decade run there. Not too far from is home in AZ. I wonder why that has never been considered.

Re: Old School Uncool
Artistically only Michael made an earnest attempt to move on in his own direction and he failed. You listen to his solo compositions and you wonder if it is really the same guy who wrote “Caught in a Dream”. Collectively, with Alice Cooper they had some chemistry. Individually, even in their prime t...

Re: new michael bruce group album
there was a certain chemistry in the original Alice Cooper, Bob Erwin included that produced some great songs. the solo projects by former members make me appreciate more Alice’s talent for crafting lyrics and his singing abilities. As much as I loved the original group I find their solo projects ha...

Re: Have you changed your mind?
Yes, it was the sound track for a television special and that was the loophole in the contract that allow Alice to record an Album on a different label. Seeing that the WTMN album was a success that embolden Alice and management to cut ties and go solo. Later all members of the group received a con...

Re: Have you changed your mind?
Disagree a good bit although not entirely with Bowie comments but the debate on him is long and for a different place. For me, Battle Axe started out as a generous 5/10 and has slipped to a generous 3. Just don't enjoy listening to it. Your comments suggest Alice is stale and tired. Personally, I d...

Re: Have you changed your mind?
From Pretties For You to Greatest Hits, I love every one of the original group's albums. My reasoning for believing MOL was more a Michael album was that MB had butted heads with Ezrin during MOL sessions, which tells me that the project meant a lot to him...that and there weren't any macabre songs...

Bob & Shep & Alice are ok
I believe and it is becoming more and more apparent that the original Alice Cooper band became a to big to fail corporate band during the making School’s Out. Bob, also would be judged as a producer by the bands output; Therefore he did what he needed to do not to fail by bringing in musicians to pl...

Re: Analyzing & The Meaning Of Lyrics & Songs
I find it best not to over think either Alice Cooper or David Bowie lyrics. They are both masters at creating some great imagery with their lyrics with little substance behind them.

Re: Glen gets head butted by Norman Mailer
Reading about it from another source apparently Mailer’s teenage kids had a interest in the band Shrapnel and they were invited to a party at the house along with Glen.

Glen gets head butted by Norman Mailer
Apparently Glen Buxton with members of Shrapnel were visiting Norman Mailer. Norman took a vocal and instant disliking toward Glen. Later Glen made a comment on a portrait of Mailer’s wife saying that he would f### her. Mailer then grabbed Glen by the ears and gave him a headbutt that dropped him. H...

Why would an award be given for a guitar solo on a very obscure song that had a very limited release? Doesn’t sound credible.

Re: COULD BOND HAVE SAVED ALICE COOPER?
The song does not sound like the original band. The song wreaks as a Alice Cooper project. It is overproduced and orchestrated. I wonder what role if any Michael played in the song, we know Glen did not play on it. So if it had been successful it would have only given Alice more encouragement to go ...

Re: Interesting (from Popoff book)
What is in it for Alice? It won't add anything to his career or bottom line. He has probably toured and collaborated with other musicians longer than the time spent with the original band. It wasn't working 45 years ago when they were relatively young and it certainly won't work now that they are se...

Re: The Beach Boy-i-fication of the the bad.
You could always ask Dennis on FB. He did have some help in the style for Crazy Little Child which you can read about on the albums section here. Neal responded to the Shwartzberg allegations when I messaged him. If Douglas didn't like Neals drumming why did he go on to produce Platinum God? For ye...

The Beach Boy-i-fication of the the bad.
Glen's diminished role after their break through Album is well documented. I think it is accepted that he did not play at all on BDB and MOL. What has not but mentioned is Michael Bruce's declining role and to a lessor extent the other band members. During the productions of BDB and MOL there were p...

Zappa's influence on Alice Cooper
Zappa's musical influence on the group is non existent after Bob Ezrin became involved with the group. However, whether Alice admits it or not his impact Alice's persona was lasting. When Alice deviated from his Zappa's like irreverence to mainstream and counter cultures and use a clever lyrics that...

Re: Alice Cooper's best guitarist??
Creativity and originality carry more weight in my perspective than technical ability. There are 10 year olds on YouTube who can play a lot a great rocks song lick per lick. But they are just parroting the creation of someone who came before them. Nina would fall into this category. Glenn certainly ...

Re: Glen’s secret harmonics on schools out
When I listen to the original I can hear the harmonic notes a choir chorus bleed through under the feed back either from Glen playing the harmonic notes or a second guitar. The YouTube track is too clean and too compartmentalized just to be some dude doing a redention of schools out and they would n...
