Re: Alice's Platform

I'm Always Chasing Interns ( For Bill ) That's my favourite, so far. He could do a medley with 'For Monica's Sake'. For the covers section, dedicated to all those morally dead politicos: Castaways Bliar Bliar (Tony's song) ZZ Top Tush (Dubya) Fred Astaire Putin On The Blitz (Song For Ukraine) Billy...

Re: Alice's Platform

For the UK part of the tour he could have:

No More Mr Cameron
You Look Good In Rags (Jeremy 'Steptoe' Corbyn's song)
Is It My Boris
Life And Death Of The (Labour) Party
EU and Me (Brexit's song)

Re: Alice's Platform

I can't see how any of this warrants a 'big announcement'. It's an already six years-old, inferior remake, of a song/'campaign' that was thrilling 44 years ago, but now comes across as desperate, dad-rock, baloney. It would at least have been a tad more relevant to base the current live set around a...

Re: the replacement of the live cover song section

Covers are here to stay. Virtually all long-standing acts are focused on the lucrative 'big hits & best known bits' nostalgia market; past glories are put on repeat cycle, and when their own hits run out, they play someone else's.

Re: His voice is too ugly to sing "Poison"

The original poster's opinions/statements seem to have become somewhat contradictory and convoluted. Nevertheless, I'll add my two cents' worth. 'Poison' is one of the very few '86-'91 songs that I actually like. IMO it's a good pop-rock single, and eminently suits Alice's raspy voice. The 'Trash' a...

Would that be the Billy Connolly version?

Re: Is The Casual Fan Ruining Alice Cooper?

'Casuals' vs 'die-hards' - that's been going on since 1975. Many ACG fans weren't impressed with ballads (I love the first two), but they ended up being best ever selling singles. 'Trash' - an album I loathe - was a mega success; so the hard-nosed appeal to 'casuals' paid off. With recent setlists, ...

Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!

Considering some of the things that have/haven't happened over the past few years - no W2MN show; no 'proper' ACG reunion; three years flogging RTD; two years of Motley Crue; the grand conceit of Hollywood Vampires; covers galore...... - then a predictably yawnsome setlist is just par for the course...

Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!

The shows have been bad for years. Predictable and stale. I'd much rather spend my money on a new band - who are lean, mean and ragged round the edges - than someone who's become the Bruce Forsyth of shock'n'roll. I think he is still slick and professional, but it's more about nostalgia and troopin...

Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!

As there's such an obvious crossover between AC and HVs, why don't they go the whole hog and merge? Alice & The Vampires; it's got a sort of ring to it, like Martha & The Vandellas ( Johnny D could always do a bit of shimmying behind Alice). They could merge songs as well: 'Whole Lotta Nice Guy'; 'M...

Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!

Considering the feverish speculation from some of AC's more starry-eyed 'believers' (regarding which 'deep cuts' might be played), then I can't help but give a Nelson Muntz-type 'Ha-ha' at the unveiled setlist. What did people expect? That Alice has basically decamped to the '71-'75 zone of Nostalgi...

Re: New "Alice Cooper Eras" Podcast - Special 6 Part Series

Thanks for the final podcast. Alice's albums, from this 'era', are definitely a mixed bag. (The live records didn't really get mentioned - probably a good idea!) My opinions:- 'TEOAC' is an anonymous also-ran; 'DD' has better songs, with standouts in the title track and 'Jesse Jane'. 'ACAS' gets fla...

Re: Spend Your Night With Alice Cooper Tour!

It's a photo of what looks like a new backdrop (and the toy box seen earlier with the band in front of it), featuring gravestones for Bowie, Moon, Lemmy, Hendrix, Lennon and Morrison.... I truly hope it's a Vampires backdrop being tested/checked, and not an Alice solo one... As the HVs concerts are...

Remember to tell Alice that you've got your own certificate of insanity, so won't need one of his.

'Diamond Insanity' meet and greet for Alice: $725 (£504); Hollywood Vampires m&g: $1,500 (£1042).

Re: Alice's Facebook Page

The whole of Alice Cooper is "disingenous". Yes, but being purposefully 'disingenuous' has its disadvantages in the long run. If his whole modus operandi seems to be one of: "gimme the money, I'm just a piss & vinegar, showbiz charlatan", then quite a lot of Joe Public will ultimately view him as a...
