Television Generation DVD
Not seen this mentioned in 'latest news' yet. Amazon UK are listing The Television Generation DVD; release date: November 2nd. Here's (some of) the blurb: Featuring television/live performances by Alice Cooper (original band/solo singer). Includes rare 1971 footage, alongside more recent performance...

Re: Elected Re-Recorded?
Yes, that's what I've always thought. As I understood it, Ezrin mixed the 45 vocal so that Alice was 'centred', giving it a bit more 'oomph', for AM radio. The original album mix had Alice's voice panned to the right channel only.Si wrote:Same recording, slightly different mix.

Elected Re-Recorded?
There's an Alice Cooper 'Songs' thread on the Hoffman Forum, which is currently discussing the BDB album. One poster has stated that Elected was re-recorded for the album version. Is that correct?

Re: I still think Paranormal is mediocre........
I think the last two Alice albums have been ho-hum; plus HVs was crap. They're a mish mash of superfluous guests; a handful of great songs, derailed by another handful of 'goofy' nonentities; slick, yet soulless. Why not use ACG, or the touring band, for a whole album? At least that would lend some ...

Re: Happy 30th Birthday RYFAY!
It's Poundland Alice: cheap; tacky; instantly disposable (as was 'Constrictor').

Re: No more (love at ur conveveince)
No More Love At Your Convenience is a great song. Not everything has to be about cross-dressers and 'loving' decomposed human beings. I always thought this was about making love to a cadaver. The protagonist, Alice, has her where he wants her and now it is convenient for him. I thought it was about...

Re: Your Favorite Alice album rankings from 2000 to Present
1. BP Easily his best post-WB album. He's got something to say, and says it magnificently. A five star affair. 2. DT A more eclectic version of BP ; some filler, but still good. 3. ACAS I like the amateurish production; mostly great stomping songs. 4. DD Some good, some meh. Title track, and Jesse J...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
A fortnight on - and after listening to it several times on Spotify - it hasn't grown on me; still a 50/50 record. If they'd made it a single album (preferably replacing 'HW' with 'GAG'!), then I might have bought it. The 2CD format - two originals, plus live filler - puts me off even more.

Re: Alice speaks about Glen Campbell
A thoughtful tribute by AC to GC. Ever since I heard Galveston on TOTPs in 1969 I've always had a soft spot for Glen's music, especially his stuff with Jimmy Webb. His last few years have been horrendous, but now he's free of that terrible torment.

Re: New album sales
Although sales figures may be woeful (compared to the past), the charts do still act as a symbol of where an artist retains greatest popularity. Top 10 Australia Austria Czech Republic Finland Germany Sweden UK Top 20 Belgium Canada Greece Norway Top 30 The Netherlands I would imagine the AC camp ar...

Re: Am I The Only One Who Liked W2MN?
The first five songs are tight, concise, and (fairly) conceptual. After that, the whole thing - bar When Hell Comes Home - falls flat on its face; a sprawling, self-congratulatory, dog's dinner of execrable 'comedy', homages (Stones/Jackson/Who), plus the sappiest ballad this side of Vegas Manilow. ...

Re: Bob Ezrin-Past, Present And Future
Back in the '70s, BE was the essential catalyst in corralling, and honing, the Cooper talents. Like the band, he was bursting at the seams with enthusiasm, creativity, and an ability to fine-tune them onto the charts. He also knew a handful of crack players, who would become an integral part of the ...

The original Holy Water https://youtu.be/Wjq19_THqQ4 Why would they want to include a cover of this, instead of another ACG song?

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
This one is odd. Arguably the worst song on the album has a bunch of writing credits. Anyone know who these guys are: Holy Water (Cooper, Demaree IV, Tucker, Monyhan, Bernauer, Mclaughlin, Richards, Ezrin That eight people are credited with such a dreadful song is laughable. I would imagine the omi...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
For me, it's a 50/50 split, like the album cover: six good and six poor songs. That's a better ratio than W2MN (which I eventually got rid of), and miles better than the terrible HVs; still only a three star record at most, though. A couple of the songs - Paranormal & PP - would be much more effecti...

Re: Top Ten ( Worst ) Tracks
Woman Machine(MOL) The only ACG song I can't stand. Damned If I Do(L&W) This Chas & Dave knees up pongs. I Am The Future(ZCS) Puts the T into turgid. Trick Bag(Constrictor) Hair-metal misogyny. Step On You (RYF&Y) See above. Trash - Plenty to choose from here, but this is his most despicable song. ...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
Paranormal Basically, Eleanor Rigby fed through the metal machine. Ezrin chucks in the kitchen sink bombast straight away. More pompous, than pomp. 4/10 Dead Flies Dead good! Plenty of quasi-Hendrix strut & stomp. 9/10 Fireball Best song on the album. Sounds like a new, hungry band; co-opting the s...

Re: When will there be a Paranormal album review
Positive review in the latest Mojo; also a big interview article. AC trots out the usual blarney & 'misrememberings', but has a couple of things to say about the 'blackout' albums that I'd not heard before.
