Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
For me, it's a 50/50 split, like the album cover: six good and six poor songs. That's a better ratio than W2MN (which I eventually got rid of), and miles better than the terrible HVs; still only a three star record at most, though. A couple of the songs - Paranormal & PP - would be much more effecti...

Re: Top Ten ( Worst ) Tracks
Woman Machine(MOL) The only ACG song I can't stand. Damned If I Do(L&W) This Chas & Dave knees up pongs. I Am The Future(ZCS) Puts the T into turgid. Trick Bag(Constrictor) Hair-metal misogyny. Step On You (RYF&Y) See above. Trash - Plenty to choose from here, but this is his most despicable song. ...

Re: Thoughts On And Ranking The New Album
Paranormal Basically, Eleanor Rigby fed through the metal machine. Ezrin chucks in the kitchen sink bombast straight away. More pompous, than pomp. 4/10 Dead Flies Dead good! Plenty of quasi-Hendrix strut & stomp. 9/10 Fireball Best song on the album. Sounds like a new, hungry band; co-opting the s...

Re: When will there be a Paranormal album review
Positive review in the latest Mojo; also a big interview article. AC trots out the usual blarney & 'misrememberings', but has a couple of things to say about the 'blackout' albums that I'd not heard before.

Re: No more (love at ur conveveince)
It's just another lame track, from a very lacklustre album; epitomizing the 'state' all the main participants were in at that time. I like 'Broadway' Alice, but L&W just reeks of 'shove it out; any old rubbish will do' contempt.

Re: When will there be a Paranormal album review
It gets rubbished by 'Record Collector' magazine. Here's a summary: Paranormal lacks the nostalgia factor of W2MN; a concept, such as the one behind ACAS; and can't claim a return to the heaviness of DT. So, what does it offer? Not much, other than a moderately listenable set of songs. 'Genuine Amer...

Re: More tracks to hear...
Heard these three on KB show:
Fallen In Love - Meh to Bleurgh. Guitar widdles & rotten chorus.
Holy Water - Is this the joke track?
Dynamite Road - Damp squib. Think Convoy, only worse.

Re: What was the last stand out album for you by Alice?
For me, the Cooper creative heydays finished when the WB contract ended, and AC cleaned up. For his own sanity, Alice had to detach himself from the former madness, but that detachment inevitably meant something special was lost forever. He became much more of a parody. I think the hair-metal bandwa...

Re: More tracks to hear...
The usual bombast; grafted-on guitar histrionics; tedious tune; plus BE's burnt-to-a-cinder production. Dreadful.

TeamRock have an online review. https://goo.gl/Bz9zq2 "It doesn't suck.....(although) it's no Killer ; not even a Flush The Fashion ." Genuine American Girl , Dead Flies , and Rats , are deemed the best tracks. The rest.... hit and miss . " Taken as a whole, it's a pretty patchwork affair ......(alt...

Re: More tracks to hear...
I don't like 'PP', and didn't think much of the title track (snippet); too bombastic; too Dad Rock. I loved 'Genuine American Girl' - sounds like The Undertones-meets-Doo Wop.

Re: New album update
Apart from the intro, I thought it was very uninspiring; like a third-rate Vengeance Is Mine. The headache drums, and widdly widdly guitar were particularly awful. It's the sort of formulaic rock-metal, churned out by any number of mediocre nonentities. Trite, tedious, and oh so predictable.

Re: New Alice Album in 2 or 3 months
Re: discussions above.....I must be in the tiniest of tiny minorities, because I really like ACAS . There's a certain Roger Cormanesque quality to it, and I've never got fed up of playing the album. On the other hand, I got rid of W2MN last year....got bored with the comedy songs, sappy ballad, and ...

Re: New Alice Album in 2 or 3 months
I'd be really interested if the promo were indicative of the general 'thrust' of the album: all-out weirdsville. No dad-rock; no 'welcome to my serial killer hell'; no Wagner sapfests found in a bottom drawer; no Scooby Doo songs...... just something radically different.

No, I wouldn't go. But I've also zero interest in seeing solo AC. Oldies, playing nostalgia tours, don't do anything for me anymore.

07282017? The album's going to be released on July 28th? And it's going to sound like Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music? If only.Si wrote:RE: The actual Topic of this thread... You might want to check out the news page.
