Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

I like it that they used John Denver crowd noise to beef up the audience track. Someone in the studio had their tongue in their cheek. Babysquid where did you find this info? It's not on Wikipedia & I had been told that Cheap Tricks' @ Budokan had alternate audience noise also. Not on Wiki either! ...

Re: Last Night This Happened

Some people just have too much fun at work..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmKOEpcXbB4 Thanks Si, It's a shame they cut the very end but it's obvious that the encore wasn't "Just Phoned In". :alice: I hope that this or another performance along the tour was "Pro Shot" for an HD commercial rele...

Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

Rock 'n' Roll Animal is a great short set into the world of Lou, "Lou Reed Live" released about a year later is culled from the same performances used for R'n'R Animal & between the 2 gives a more complete overview of how he and the band were "Live". Lou doesn't do too much on stage yet he was mesme...

Re: Flush the Fashion 40th Anniversary

While I was doing a little more research about FTF.
I found out that The Smashing Pumpkins did a cover of "Clones (We're All)"
Not too bad but, not better than The Master!

Re: Flush the Fashion 40th Anniversary

I found this record during a vacationperiod in which I had no access to any turntable. So plenty of time to read every single note on it, including the credits in which "Basil Fawlty" is thanked. ( yes, the one of Fawlty Towers . I mentioned this years ago on the first ST list and it appeared that ...

Re: Why no expanded TRASH ??

truth I was kind of so-so with Trash at the time of its' release, it certainly was of its' time and I just didn't love hair metal as a genre or aesthetic. I listen to Poison the other day and it has not aged well for me at all. I would not buy an expanded version version or anything Trash related, ...

Re: Small insight on the financials

You are confusing two different things. Meet and greet (fleece) cons the fan into thinking the artist gives two shits about them. They care only about your $. It's sad and the least rock n roll thing anyone could do. I don't know who is more pathetic the artist or the punter. The dam n thing nearly...

Re: Giant Baby

I saw in another thread where the Giant Baby came out to frolic during School's Out at the most recent show. That's fantastic! The Giant Baby is to me the greatest prop since the Cyclops and ranks in the best Alice props ever! The potential with the Giant Baby is endless. They could have the Giant ...

Re: Giant Baby

Off topic. I would love to see the rebirth of the Giant monster from the Constrictor-tour. He puts it together and then breaks it - great trick. Always wonder why he didn't used that more often. Building & Demolition? You need 2 different Union Cards for that! :rotfl: That's too much for even an ou...

I wonder if this is what I missed...
I was there and Dennis, Joe and Albert played "School's Out" and "Don't Fear The Reaper" with the School Of Rock kids.

It was a fun short performance, especially with the latter having a ton of the kids playing cow bell.
MORE COWBELL!! :rotfl:

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

But I digress. The new tour is awesome and full of the energy that to me is the soul of rock and roll, the castle is great, the theatrics on Roses on white lace are adorable etc. It is a positive - not a negative that Alice has such a vast catalog to pull from that not everyone can be pleased. Quot...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Great post. It made me think of my best friend's 22 year old nephew. I talk to him about music when he around and he loves Pink Floyd, Led Zep and other classic bands. When it comes to Alice he loves the original band...and has almost no liking of anything after 1974. The "kids" his age mock the ha...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Poison is a well-written song compared to the majority of songs from that era, but even it is still lacking in musical integrity to me. I’d love to never have to hear it or the rest of the Trash again. Always bathroom break time when that comes around. Interesting how people like to make all these ...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

Part of the problem here is perception. Whatever Era we are talking about (& 50 yrs. is a long time!) Once a fan got a hold of the latest release they played it over & over. Learning every nuance & note. It boils down to economics because, our disposable funds were (presumably) limited. :/ T...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

My point being is there is great music from all eras and I am glad that on this tour some great 80's songs are remembered and for some people Roses on White Lace is every bit as good of a song and significant as Eighteen is for others. No. I agree with much of what you said but 'I'm Eighteen' is si...

How great would it be if he performed the 4 black out albums in full? Bit like Sparks doing all their albums to date one at a time. Those albums are very short but he could do two one night and two the next. Encores, For Britain Only and Look at you over there. You. me and about 500 Alice fans worl...

Re: Rise - First reviews

You Can’t Put Your Arms Around a Memory – I am a big fan of rock music, but I cannot admit to ever hearing this song before. So, in that regard, this is the definitive version. I admire the piano playing on The Wrong Bandage intro. Heroes - I just can't understand the vitriol about this song. The g...
