Re: Goes To Hell album cover
The thing that has surprised me most in relation to that image was the t-shirt that Michael Bruce was selling at his gigs, around 1992 I think. I caught him in Edinburgh on his short UK tour (he played in a club immediately after Alice had finished his set at the Playhouse) and the merchandise inclu...

Australian Press Conference 1997
I can't see any previous mention of this on here, apologies if I've missed it. Nothing too unusual, although he does pass up an opportunity to go into the chicken story again, which is rare to say the least! He also mentions the then recent death of Princess Diana. From roughly 13 to 20 minutes, it'...

Re: New song and video "Don't give up" coming!
Bit disappointing to see the pre-orders pop up on ebay for a profit and on FB fan pages folk are complaining they cant get one. I know it is not Alice's fault or the Alice camp at fault but it sucks that genuine fans are being scalped for vinyl, sometimes the internet can be a pain in the ass. I'd ...

I'm really enjoying these. The Michael Monroe one is a hoot.
Nice shout out for this site from Chuck Garric on his interview as well.

Re: New song and video "Don't give up" coming!
Songs OK and the video isn't nearly as bad as I feared when it looked like it would be a cavalcade of fan snaps. I actually found something uplifting about seeing the band 'back together' for it. Could have been truly embarrassing but credit where it's due. Miles better than the majority of the spec...

All a matter of where it would fit I guess. I suspect plenty of people would happily substitute it for Millie and Billie.

Re: Mike Pinera
It seems this is probably not going to happen. Been over a month and nothing back from Mike. I share your fear. Duane Hitchings went quiet after I sent him the questions. I'll be dropping him a line tomorrow with a gentle reminder in the hope that the current world crisis (or anything else for that...

When I first saw those lyrics, I was reminded of No Baloney Homosapiens for some reason, probably the "blood and guts human race" bit.
I'd like to see a video where everyone was wearing the Bill Crowe mask, with Bill himself appearing briefly near the end.

Re: SPECIAL FORCES ERA INTERVIEW
Funny the way he's really bigging up side one of Special Forces, flying in the face of the general opinion of fans. Also amusing to see him talk about not enjoying being away from home for more than three weeks in a row or having to leave the United States at all, when you think of how he developed ...

That would have been one of the greatest things ever!
I had visions of the family bashing away on pots and pans while he recited 'Generation Landslide'. Could have been kinda cool!

Re: Alice Leeds Arena September 18th 2020
Saw that email and thought WTF?
Would be a little presumptuous of any artist or venue to assume gigs would be operating as normal by any date this year.
It would also be disrespectful to fans to expect them to shell out for something that has a very good chance of then being cancelled.

Re: The Blackout Box - Wishful Thinking
The most 'out there' one I tried to track down was the woman credited as directing the Paris TV special, even though she may not have actually directed much at all. The language barrier and the lack of credits for doing anything more recent than 17 years ago made it very difficult indeed. Now that'...

Re: The Blackout Box - Wishful Thinking
Who else did you reach out to Vince? I even thought to reach out to the producer of I Am The Future! Looks like he is a jazz lounge type singer. I think there is less known about Zipper than even DaDa. Craig Kampf and Jan Uvena. I'm not 100% sure they've seen my requests as there's been no rejectio...

Re: The Blackout Box - Wishful Thinking
I've not had any replies from the other attempts I made to speak to people from this period. I suspect the Mike Pinera and Duane Hitchings interviews will be all we get at this time.
Those two aren't bad ones to get though! And it's great those guys are up for it.

Re: Duane Hitchings
The questions have now been emailed to Duane. Much like pitkin88 with his Mike Pinera interview, I sent around 40 questions, a few more on top of that if he's charitable enough to speak about each track on Special Forces on an individual basis. I did include a couple of enquiries relevant to Alice's...

Re: Duane Hitchings
One thing I wish had done was asked for comments on each song individually. I really enjoy it when artists go through tracks like that. I wasn't sure if I was asking too many questions or not. I'll see how it looks when it's all written out, but I was planning on doing that with all the songs he co...

Re: Duane Hitchings
I really like Special Forces except for the rehash of Generation Landslide. Not sure if you have messaged him your questions yet but if not... Was he aware the riff on Rags is almost identical to Blondies Atomic? What did he think when he saw Alice's new look? How did he get along with Shep and was...

Re: The Blackout Box - Wishful Thinking
This, to me, is the most fascinating part of Alice career. Personally I would love to get my hands on a special forces tour t-shirt again. I got a decent version off ebay. I loved the original but that was a medium and there is now Xs in front of my Ls. I know where you're coming from. I've still g...
