Well until this week it was easy. I had the concert to look forward to. Now I pass the time by roaming this forum and talking with other fans :8): I am lucky because the album comes out a couple of days earlier in Switzerland (and some of our neighbour lands). But I wonder if the local shops will ha...

Ah I almost got a drumstick too. I had my hand on it and the kid next to me had it too... so I let go. I'm too good :)

Hee, hee! Thanks! Yes of course it was fun! It's my yearly dose of adrenalin. Well if only I could see Alice more often (and it's not always yearly). I'm glad my friends don't see me then, they wouldn't recognise me ;) The one who came with me yesterday didn't stay in the front :p I guess I should h...

Well, another Swiss show (at a different venue) had the same problem, but it was so tiny that half the setup was missing. The gallows did fit but not the "Frankenstein machine" thingy. But it was my favourite Alice show ever, we were so close to the stage and got a lot of interaction. At one point A...

Well here are some more to add. Full review here: http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4184 The cane flew into the crowd, smack in the middle of the hall, causing quite a riot apparently, as usual I guess, The riding crop also went on the other side, bleh, missed again! The girl who ...

Swiss show 9th of July :: a (long) review

I'm listening to Breakfast with Alice as I type, argh that's hard! I am still in the « nostalgia zone » you know that feeling after a concert where all you can do is sigh in sadness that it's all done and gone. But your mind is full of wonderfull pictures? I am listening to yesterday's radio show, w...

Well I couldn't get hold of a setlist of the Swiss show but from memory I'd say it was the same (makes sense of course)
But I was dissapointed not to have the gallows, then again the guillotine is always a cool sight as well!

Hey I'm back! I'll be writing a full review once I recover. I hardly slept at all these past days... and not even for partying but just for normal insomnia (although it's not really normal for me). I've slept about 5 hours in the last 72 hours, but I am surprisingly alert :bam: I did make it to the ...

Thanks guys. I just realised I wasn't very clear once again. My friend has to take the train from Geneva to here (about 2 hours on the train) and we'll drive to the venue in my rented car... then he'll sleep at a friend's before heading home the next day. So the poor guy will have to pay a return tr...

July reviews

I searched for a reviews thread but didn't find one. So just show me the way if I missed it. I'm getting ready for tomorrow, trying not to be too excited, I still have to work in the morning By the way I almost had a heart attack earlier today. The friend who's coming along to the concert came today...

Well mostly there are no seats at all at the concerts I go to. It's standing and general admission. The good side is that you have a chance of being in the front the bad side is that it's a lottery and you don't always win. It's a lot of work ;) as I am about to find out again tomorrow. And you must...

I'll do my best to get a set list on Wednesday. But I'm not very good at remembering and during the show I have other things to do ;)
I did print out a recent setlist and I'll try to go through it after the show though.

I also prefer Hey Stoopid. I can't say that the sexiness in Trash left me indifferent, far from it :) but it's not my favourite Alice album. I like the heavier stuff more. Or then the early albums. But I think Hey Stoopid will always have a special meaning for me because that's when I became a fan. ...

We're kind of discussing this in an other thread: http://sickthingsuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=4158 But I am glad to hear that. Sometimes I think that Dirty Diamonds, Eyes, Dragontown and Brutal Planet could have been "condensed" in less albums. I loved them all but sometimes it felt like it was...

Very true. I now consider "The Last Temptation" to be a masterpiece, but when it came out I initially was indifferent about a lot of it. A perfect illustration of what I said above. I also didn't like that it that much when it came out. I just listened to it twice yesterday, there are some pure gem...
