Re: “Road,” August 25, 2023

While I have regularly followed the conversation here, I haven't posted anything in a long time. One of the reasons is definitely my own artistic projects. I am not a musician. I am a writer. At one point I was working on two poem books and three novel manuscripts. A couple of months ago I finished ...

Fingers crossed that "Magic Bus" is not The Who cover because I don't even like the original.

Re: Alice Cooper Setlist/New Tour Comment

If Alice Cooper comes to Helsinki on this tour, I will buy tickets without any hesitation. I missed Detroit Muscle tour due to uncertain personal circumstances (Nothing too dramatic but I don't care to elaborate). It was a big bummer for me. My situation is a bit different compared to many others he...

Re: Touring band to feature on next album!

Alice has a bad habit to present his briefly considered ideas as concrete plans. This causes much confusion among his fans. He said years ago that he will play Roses on White Lace on Wacken festival. Did not happen. He said he will play different songs at every gig on the UK tour this year. That did...

Re: Touring band to feature on next album!

I am little saddened to see this much disappointment by an album none of us have heard even a tiny snippet. Does this happen elsewhere? Are readers already disappointed by new Stephen King book before reading one page of it? Are movie fans already disappointed by new Terrence Malick movie before eve...

Re: Touring band to feature on next album!

I found a rare exception. Rain Dogs is a 10th album by Tom Waits and often cited as his most brilliant masterpiece.

Re: Detroit Muscle Tour with Ace

I honestly like Detroit Stories and I'm not one of those fans who think everything Alice does is brilliant. In my opinion Special Forces is a terrible album. First Hollywood Vampires record is a total waste of time. Along Came a Spider is a mess and Flush the Fashion while better than three albums I...

Re: Detroit Stories first song "Rock 'N' Roll" to be available Fri 11-13-20

Much better than I expected. Alice is in fine voice here. Arrangement and style are different enough to separate it from the original. Good thing Alice didn't do complete musical clone of the song and then just put his vocals on top of it. Great guitar work by Steve Hunter and Joe Bonamassa.

Re: Album opinion change

The Eyes of Alice Cooper has grown on me quite a bit. Originally I was very disappointed with it but now I find it enjoyable though uneven album. Sound and performances are very good on that album. I was excited about Along Came a Spider at first but now I think it is a very bad album. Brutal Planet...

Re: New album cover

I'm shocked but in a completely wrong way. Is Alice running out of song ideas? Or is he becoming insanely nostalgic? I was semi-excited before I read Rock 'n' Roll and Our Love Will Change the World will be covers too. What is going on in Cooper camp? I recall that Alice said some months ago that AL...

Re: Have you changed your mind?

Muscle of Love, The Eyes and Brutal Planet have gotten better over the years. The Eyes of Alice Cooper was a big disappointment for me originally. Now I think it is pretty good but not great. The effect of Dragontown has declined somewhat in recent years but I still think it is a very good album. Sp...

Re: Lou Reed - Rock and Roll Animal

Toronto Bob, my three favorite artists of all time are Alice Cooper, Frank Zappa and Lou Reed. So I'm with both Zappa and Reed. I'm not crazy about Rock 'n' Roll Animal. Lou Reed's vocals are way better on Animal Serenade live album released on 2004. He is clearly much more focused on that release. ...

Re: Vampires Who's Laughing Now?

A decent song, pretty cool but nothing earth shattering. I personally prefer Boogieman Surprise. I am very hopeful that this album will be better than the debut. But the bar is very low to be honest. The band doesn't need to pull of Killer from their sleeve to improve their game.

His current band is incredible and I hope there will not be any personnel changes this year. The band is tight, energetic and has a great chemistry.

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

I'm not sure you got my post this time either padre_sliprat, but I don't bother to correct you. Very few old artists and bands with a career spanning several decades play their latest album in its entirety or even most of it. There are exceptions though. But it is more common that they play only one...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

padre-sliprat I didn't say Halo of Flies was some kind of rarity. I was just pointing out that it wasn't played on Raise the Dead tour (like the other songs that I listed) and that Alice Cooper changes more than 1-2 songs when the tour name changes. I know that he hasn't played much new material for...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

In my opinion during recent years Alice Cooper has been much more adventurous with setlist than stage show in a both good and bad way. The show hasn't included fresh new ideas for a long time. Instead we got variations of traditional AC theatrics. But the situation regarding the setlist isn't even n...

Re: Identity Crisis.....

While DaDa is my all time favorite Alice Cooper album, blackout era is not my favorite Alice period. Flush The Fashion, despite its short length, is quite an uneven album. Special Forces is a terrible record with only a couple decent moments. Zipper Catches Skin is pretty good but by no means amazin...
