Re: I still think Paranormal is mediocre........
It seems that the songs people seem most drawn to (Paranormal, Fireball, and the Sound of A) are the ones with a bit more of a serious tone. I thought W2MN was too heavy on the camp humor - which really made it unlistenable for me. I'm okay with the new album. I'd give it a solid B.

Re: Vampires UK dates with the Darkness and the Damned
I think the Hollywood Vampires sounded like a great idea on paper. I was really looking forward to the album, as I thought it had tremendous potential - as a tribute album. However, it's just kind of there for me, and I can't imagine there being a big demand for more of the Vampires at this point. T...

Re: The sound of A
If there's a song on the album that conjures up the feel of vintage early 1970's Alice Cooper - it's The Sound of A. I'm glad this is an emphasis track (single). Deserves to be.

Re: Can alice still shock?
Nope. Cooper is like an established restaurant in a good location. People know what to expect when they go there, and he delivers. But Shocking? Hell no.

Re: If the band really was collectively know as Alice Cooper
I'm sure if the band could go back in time, and could see what was going to happen with the issue of the name, things would have been done differently. I don't think they expected to be blindsided like that.

Re: Why BBB did not work out
I'll take it over Lace and Whiskey, or Goes to Hell any day - even with the piss poor production. Sounds more like a collection of demos though. There's some great material on that album - it just needs to be properly fleshed out. But, in the end, it's a rock album. Not a novelty album.

Re: Genuine American Girl
[quote="cooperrocks"]Right and I certainly don't want to get into an argument with anyone (agree with you on the Sound of A) because I love the original band but I love solo Alice just as much maybe even more. I just think with some people and they just believe the original band is the Be All,End Al...

I'm a big fan of Easy Action. Don't even think about chopping that one up. It's a great album on it's own.

Re: How would you recreate the Paranormal Cover Art?
Here's an alternate cover. My guess is that they just may have been considering this, but the white one came in first. Now that I've gotten to know the record, I wouldn't change a thing. Alice looks constipated on that one. Yeah, but on the cover they used - the AC head on the right appears to be l...

He should give his touring band their own separate name. Many major artists do that. Elvis Costello and the Attractions. Prince and the Revolution. Top Petty and the Heartbreakers. Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings. Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds. Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Marky Mark and t...

Re: Give it up for Dennis Dunaway!
I hope Dennis and Alice continue to work together in some capacity - based on the strength of Fireball, and The Sound of A. While I'm not crazy about the new album as a whole, there are select tracks that are exceptionally well done. Dennis is associated with all the ones I like for some reason.

Re: How would you recreate the Paranormal Cover Art?
I'm not a big fan of the fake scary face thing. Welcome 2 My Nightmare had the same thing. I don't know - it's kind of unconvincing at this point, as well as cartoonish. It's also kind of cliche'. An artistic black and white photo of Alice in an empty house could have worked better with the paranorm...

Re: For all the American friends of the site
You really don't hear much Coop on the radio unless it's topical - for whatever reason. In June, you'll hear School's Out. During the last Election - I heard Elected a few times. I never hear Poison. Even when it was big, it just wasn't played much (Poison). However, when he does a show in the area ...

Re: Bob Ezrin-Past, Present And Future
The four Alice Cooper group albums produced by Ezrin are the foundation on which the house of Cooper is built - they're perfect. Consistency is what makes an artist's reputation solid, and the ACG was consistent in their run. All this talk of filler on those particular albums is pretty ridiculous.

Re: Bob Ezrin-Past, Present And Future
I think Bob is a master of sonics. He knows how to make an album sound lush, and full - every detail of it. It's almost like Billion Dollar Babies set the bar for him, as you can hear elements of B$B in Pink Floyd's The Wall, and Kiss Destroyer. I think that in the past, you could tell an Ezrin prod...

Re: Am I The Only One Who Liked W2MN?
W2MN is maybe my least favorite Alice Cooper album ever. 3 of his most embarrassing songs ever recorded are on that album; what baby wants, Disco Bloodbath, and Ghouls gone wild.
