Re: Hollywood Vampires Gigs - "Count me in" or "Not a chance

Not real high on HV, so was on the fence about Dayton (4 hr drive), but with Highland Park now booked (2 hours), I guess I'll definitely see a show.

Agree that almost all Alice covers have been worthless, but I really like Wednesday 13's version of Levity Ball

Re: Tour 2016---Thoughts???

I remember the line about Alice saying his guys couldn't play the Kane material. However, I belief it is being totally misrepresented. While I don't have the source handy, I do remember Alice simply trying to praise Kane's contributions and said the guitarist at the time "couldn't play like that". H...

Re: Speculate On Different Songs For The New Tour

Chuck once told me he would like to see Grim Facts included.
I will just be happy with no covers and any song that hasn't been done in the last 5 years.

Re: Intersting Alice and Sheryl videos

Wow, there have been a lot of silly, and petty, quarrels on here, and I have even been a part of some.
However, some of the comments in this thread are beyond the pale, and I think the site would be better served with them scrubbed.

Re: Alice joins Motley Crue for more dates in 2015

Wow, really surprised that people want Alice to have some sort of moral litmus test for who he will play with or what songs he will play. Andy gave several examples how this does not add up. Alice doesn't even make these demands on his own traveling band, let alone other touring acts. I do realize t...

Re: Alice joins Motley Crue for more dates in 2015

I agree with all of the disappointment with this announcement, but I think some of the criticism is unfair. Alice can't draw enough on his own to do a "large headlining tour." The Crue tour has also been very successful and I'm guessing it will continue to be lucrative. While people can complain abo...

Re: Alice on ESPN College Game Day

I was watching live and was shocked to hear Alice was going to be on, so of course I sat through. Actually kind of disappointing, the hosts seemed somewhat hyped to have him, but he really gave drab picks. Not arguing with who he picked to win (although it was MSU that got embarrassed), but he shoul...

Re: Never Been Sold Before

I am probably the only one, but I prefer MoL over WtMN, although I definitely feel like the production on WtMN was far superior and it is a much more epic lp. Of course, I also think SO is better than B$B in the same way. I view MoL very much like Battle Axe, in both of which I hear so much potentia...

I believe You & Me actually charted higher than Only Women. Although Only Women quickly gained greater currency through concert performances and plays on classic rock station.

The Who: "Lot of respect between these 2 bands as well."
Hmmm. . .I always thought that "put the money down" definitely included a dig at the orignal band.

Re: The Alice Cooper Show.....

One reason the record company may have kept it short is because they may have viewed it as just promoting Alice, whereas the other lps mentioned were a band, or in Frampton a musician with featured solos. For instance, they may have thought the extended jam on School's Out featuring all of the backi...

I don't think it is fair to say that HS is an anti-drug song per se, it is an anti-suicidal behavior song.

Re: Full Album Performances - What would Be Least Popular?

Obviously jsut a thread for fun, but not sure it is very legitimate to exclude PFY & EA. Plenty of the Alice hallmarks on both lps. I would rank EA over quite a few solo lps and enjoy PFY over a couple.

Re: Your biggest disappointment in Alice's career

I am really surprised that some fans don't like to hear Alice talking about his faith. While you don't have to agree with any of his views on the subject it has clearly influenced much of his lyrical content. So in that sense it provides quite a bit of insight into his songwriting (and even his perf...

I talked with Jack Richardson last summer, and while he didn't give a break down of every track, he did talk about working with Neal, Dennis, Mike, and Alice (of course)during the making of the lp as well as the difficulties with Glen at the time.

Re: Planet Rock's countdown of the top 20 hellraisers

If they meant a "hellraiser" in that he outraged the general populace and many community/civic groups protested his act as going against cultural norms and standards of morality the original group should surely rate highly. However, seeing as almost nobody else (Ozzy excepted) in this list would be ...
