Re: Tulsa, OK review

I went to this show. Yes "Lost in America" is back. "Department of Youth" was missing, but "Hey Stoopid" was still played. During "Lost", he had a "tourist" come out as Alice looked at her and said the line "Don't you know where you are?" which was hilarious, she came back out twice during "He's Bac...

Re: A Runaway Trains

I hear several Alice Cooper songs a week on various XM stations. The only new one I've heard is "I'll Bite Your Face Off". I have to say, XM does a good job of not just playing the "basic" Alice radio songs.

Well thats great you go to the show and enjoy. Its my paycheck and money i dont think i have to be condemed for having my rights. I'm not really sure how an Alice Cooper setlist has anything to do with anyone's rights, but I'll go to an Alice show no matter what he plays. I'm going to enjoy his sho...

Re: Alice in the new Dark Shadows movie?

If you've read The Shining , Jack Torrance starts out as Everyman who is corrupted by the Hotel. From the very first scene of the movie, Nicholson's Torrance looks like he's batshit crazy before he even gets to the hotel. And it's the same crazy schtick he perfected in Cuckoo's Nest . I agree that ...

Re: Comparing Theatre of Death to Montreux .......

. . . but as I explained before I thought of him as musician putting on a dark play, not an actor, well, somewhat, but most actors have many parts and play them very convincingly. Alice plays only one part and it's an evil dude with make up singing great songs about dementia. It just gets more funn...

Re: Comparing Theatre of Death to Montreux .......

I guess when you see a musician on stage with make up on, trying to be all evil and stuff, singing songs sbout dementia, it naturally becomes his persona, it's Alice, they sort of become one. Then when you see him. without the make up, in interviews about being a good family man, teaching bible stu...

Re: Comparing Theatre of Death to Montreux .......

They never set out to make comedies, they just admitted to themselves it was no longer scary and embraced it. I'm not so sure about that. I mean, look at the Child's Play sequels or many of the lines from the Nightmare on Elm Street sequels, etc. Good horror writing includes comedy for balance, but...

[quote="TeresofBlood"I agree with you about the movies. Freddy, Jason, Michael, Pinhead all became jokes as the movies went on.[/quote]
I always thought that was the intention.

Re: Comparing Theatre of Death to Montreux .......

[quote="evil sydSure, I understand that, but to me, especially in the horror world, which is real big to me, the more you know the identity of a character, the less creepy he gets. Like, let's say, for an example, Pinhead, or even, Micheal Myers,in their first movies, they were frightening, as the s...

Re: Comparing Theatre of Death to Montreux .......

Actually the more and more I read about his devotion to God and his teachings, the more it takes away from his evilness on stage, but that's just me. I find this interesting (as I've heard similar comments before). What I have to as is What does his personal life have to do with the character he pl...

Regarding the box set, Ernie Cefelu posted it as a reply to me on Facebook after I wished him a happy birthday: "The... other thing that I was thinking about as I found myself slipping away on "Grand Daddy's Magic Carpet Ride" again, how cool it was that I was working on an Alice Cooper box set that...

Did I miss something, because apparently besides "Welcome 2 My Nightmare" there is a new box set coming out that focuses on the early career. Has this been mentioned before and I somehow overlooked it?

Re: Alice Cooper Lost Luggage Containing Fake Blood

"Cooper was forced to detail the contents of his suitcases, and listed items such as fake blood, a giant syringe, skulls and skeleton limbs. . ." I love how they make this sound. To me it sounds almost reminiscent of and n early '70s article. I'm sure they had to twist his arm to divulge such inform...

I forgot about Cortez High. I visited it back when I went to Phoenix. I heard the Grand Canyon was quite impressive in December. I heard the South Rim had less smow. I saw it during July.
