Recent sales figures.

Do we have any idea how the sales figures looked for w2mn, Paranormal and Breadcrumbs? I know in these forums we have had some rough ideas about sales figures up to and including along came a spider but, given the high chart positions of Paranormal, I think it hit #6 here in the UK, (that’s last tem...

Apparently it’s debuted at number 51 in the UK charts.

Re: Have you changed your mind?

I loved Dragontown when it was first released, I was only about 16 when it was, so the louder, heavier, harder the better really, the end of Triggerman, the solo in I just want to be god, the snarl of somewhere in the jungle, loved it! However, listening to it again the other day it just lacks anyth...

Re: Breadcrumbs

HMV in Chester still has 3 copies left and the one in Reading has 1 left, again, all around the 6000 region.
I bought my copies (4 currently, long story) from Both of these HMV’s and obviously they haven’t sold any since then. So perhaps the physical sales have been poor.

Re: Hollywood Vampires meet and greet.

What about the no personal autographs either? So I can’t take anything to be signed, just the photograph. As I said, just seems like such an extraordinary amount of money for there to be such strict limitations. And of course the corollary statement to this is ‘if you don’t like it, just don’t buy i...

Re: Hollywood Vampires meet and greet.

There have been at least two occasions where I have used my own camera at the Alice meet and greets, and when the photos were taken by a member of Alices team there were at least two or three pictures taken and given to us, this Hollywood vampires meet and greet seems to imply just one photograph.Ju...

Hollywood Vampires meet and greet.

I’ve just checked out the meet and greet packages for the UK your next September and I nearly choked on my drink at the price and more specifically the limitations imposed, so, I’ve done about 5 Alice meet and greets over the last 15 years, all for about £500 on average, took a bag full of stuff to ...

Re: Is anyone home ?

To my knowledge it was written specifically for the ‘fistful of Alice’ album. It was written with Dan Wexler (think that’s the spelling), he was a member of the band Icon, Alice made a guest appearance on one of their albums in the late 80’s, subsequently Wexler appears on ‘the last temptation’ and ...

Re: Manchester

I start by offering the caveat that there are a couple of set list spoilers in this post. I was in floor block A last night, about 10 rows back, the right hand block as you look at the stage and I have to say the atmosphere around me was really good!! There Was head banging to muscle of love, some w...

Re: Breadcrumbs

To reply to Si, could the name before Crazy Jane be ‘kit with the candle’?
Crazy Jane was a comic book character, late 80s early 90s maybe?
I’m sure there was a character in that called something like ‘kit with a candle’
Just a thought, I might be miles away on this.

Re: Breadcrumbs

Had this on now since last night, when my copy arrived, I think it’s fantastic!!! I grant you that compared to the original ‘Detroit city 2020’ sounds a little clunky but thats it really, the production is great, raw yet clean, everything can be heard, Alice is in great voice, especially on ‘your ma...

Re: Breadcrumbs

I like what I’ve heard so far, the snippets have been cool, especially ‘your mamma won’t like me’ and I heard the Bob Seger song in its entirety yesterday, just good old fashioned, straight ahead rock. Dirty diamonds was put to us as straight forward garage rock and after nearly 15 years I still can...

Re: Giant Baby

I’m really not sure about the giant baby. It just looks a bit, I don’t know, muppets villain? Sort of PG, about as menacing as peacock. When you try to explain to the younger slipknot, Manson, cradle of filth et al fans that Alice was the forerunner of all this, the godfather, the king of controvers...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

The reception for Desperado didn’t seem limp at all, worked quite well, albeit as a stand alone YouTube video, how did it fit with the flow of the show?
I was thinking maybe blue Turk would have worked better, as a slower paced tune, something about the skeletons and candlelight background.

The record was hanging, quite visible, on a record stall behind Dell boy while he was fly pitching, on an episode of only fools and horses....... FACT. Just to throw out a nugget of info not on the information page, I’m sure you can all sleep a little sounder at night now knowing that has been cover...

Vinyl wanted.

I’m looking for 3 vinyls and have been for a while, along came a spider, dirty diamonds and a fistful of Alice.
Anyone UK based that has any of these for sale?

Re: Rise - First reviews

I’m struggling to hear the vocals clearly on the record, that would be my one and only major concern, I live in Chester and work in London, so It’s been the soundtrack of my journeys for the last few weeks up and down the M6 and there is some cool stuff here, I won’t dwell on what I like and dislike...

Re: New 10” record

Thanks for that, the Chester and Reading branches of HMV still have copies of the sound of A vinyl stocked and that was 6000 copies eventually, so at 20,000 for this release I wouldn’t be worried about anything other than simply where it might be stocked.

Re: New 10” record

The 20,000 tangible copies, the vinyl, will they be generally released? So I’m in the uk, is it likely to be stocked in HMV and alike? The sound of A was on numbered release and that was in HMV. I don’t use the internet you see, I only have access to it on my work phone, (hence my presence here) so ...

That’s true actually, he has a self titled solo album with a song called Gorilla.
Thank you for clearing up the mystery mr Barlow.
