Re: Good to see you again,AC
I despised the skits, i just never understood who it was marketed toward. I know humour is subjective but this just seemed a poor idea from the start. Was this discussed with the band or was it a shep and or alice deal? I'd love the idea of cindy and linda recording a commentary track while drinking...

Re: Detroit Stories Vinyl
I actually heard this a couple of nights ago, I couldn't sleep so I went to my music room and stuck on Detroit stories vinyl as I hadn't played it yet. I was baffled to start with as I thought I had misremembered the start of the song on cd. So I did the classic compare and contrast and low and beho...

Re: Battle Axe
Well I got the album (thanks for the heads up again) I cannot say it blows me away, I don't feel the vocals are strong enough and it had a very middle of the road feel to it that was ok but it seemed to lack the bite and spark of the ACG at its best. Seemed to lean more on muscle of love than killer...

Re: Constrictor Demos
Yeah its a drum machine (not even Dr. Avalanche from Sisters of Mercy! at least that would have sounded good) there is practically no low end on the whole album. It would be something else to hear you and Neal rumble through it. Man! that would be something special! I appreciate your styles are diff...

Deadringer - Electrocution of the Heart
Hi, with this band/album what was the story behind its formation, recording and release (and aftermath) Who owns the rights to it and has anyone thought of reissuing it on a smaller label that specialises in that sort of thing. I have heard some songs and really like it but the album is horrifically...

Re: Battle Axe
I have never heard the Battleaxe album. Do you guys own the rights to it? has a reissue recently ever been considered (people like rock candy records seem to do well re-releasing albums like this)

Re: Constrictor Demos
Thanks for the reply, that song sounds really cool! would for them to see the light of day one day. It must have been hard playing with a fever, but I know from experience playing music can make you tough allot out for the joys of it. Did Alice/management ever tell you why they didn't record or anyt...

Re: Constrictor Demos
Its a real shame this stuff has never ended up on a proper deluxe reissue. I love this album and seems like a real missed opportunity. Anyway, kane was obviously bringing the metal to the proceedings, was this the direction of all the songs you worked on (including the wild ones) or did it vary styl...

Re: I Hate You
Definitely a highlight of the album for me (along with the sleeper hit no one seems to mention Wonderful world) It feels like it could have had another round of insults from each member before the glen bit but its still very cool. Some of the insults made me chuckle I must admit, wonder how many arg...

Re: Detroit Stories Review
For me it is underwhelming. the covers do not rustle my jimmies at all, especially our love will change the world which I really do not get on with (much like paranormals holy water which I equally despised) In terms of the actual new songs its a mixed bag I don't think there is anything that scream...

Re: A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris DVD / Blu-Ray release
Well I punted for the box set and included tat but luckily I did get the blu ray! I think it's great and definitely superior to most live releases for some time. 4.1 is a bafflingly odd choice which sounds fine but seems odd to not mix it in standard 5.1 set up with vocals in the middle and guitars ...

Re: Touring band to feature on next album!
I would love for the touring band (this touring band with nita) to do a record with alice, I think it could be varied , interesting and exciting. I am not a fan of Detroit stories and think its long overdue for this touring band to get a decent crack of the whip. Lets hope it happens. I am not sure ...

Re: A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris DVD / Blu-Ray release
Strange then if the idea ever existed (since it was filmed, wasn't it ?) that they didn't choose for the londen gig to be released instead of the Paris one.. Well i remember london crowd being pretty poor with little atmosphere, i havent seen the paris one yet, but the live album sounds more energe...

While rick rubin has been responsible for some stellar albums (danzig not least among them) he has also been responsible for sonic pain in recent years with the likes of the compression and "production" techniques he uses. I have heard from multiple artists that rubin is less than hands on with arti...

Re: Prime Cuts Game
OMG i forgot about that terrible game! why on earth did they do this? and why have they not re-released it with easier to navigate options (or more footage if they have it)
oh man, that game is horrible i had seriously forgot about that. Worst DVD menu/"game" ever.

Re: Detroit Stories Review
Not Alice related but this reminds me of an article in Hit Parader Magazine back in 2001. yeah i am sure we have found some crackers like this, i remember a Blaze Bayley review from classic rock magazine that described all his iron maiden songs he played ........which of course , he didn't! hahaha ...
