Re: Alice Cooper in the 70’s Book
Am I right in thinking that the choral sound that happens at about 5:11 is a Melotron? Is that the strings? I think that’s real strings, I actually have a real Mellotron as well and I used to think it might be before but I’m pretty sure it’s not. I’m trying to think of a word to describe how the me...

Re: Alice Cooper in the 70’s Book
I have a Minimoog myself and I’ve always assumed that these parts were real strings and brass because that’s what they sound like. I’ve certainly never been able to create such realistic imitations of real instruments on the mini. Also Bob is credited with String and Brass arrangements on the Lp as...

Re: Chris Sutton book
I have a copy and I’m enjoying it at the moment. There are a couple of mistakes and a few bit of info that I wasn’t aware of.

Alice Cooper in the 70’s Book
Hi Dennis I’ve just started reading this book and whilst I’m enjoying it there’s a couple of things in the section about Killer which I think either I or the author might have gotten wrong. The book states that the Strings on Halo of Flies, Be My Lover and the brass on Dead Babies was Bob Ezrin on t...

Re: easy action
Hi Dennis a few questions on Easy Action i bought this record as my third ACG record ( BDB and LITD being the first ones). It was only until much later I found out that Michael Bruce sang on Beautiful Fly Away : was there a specific reason for this and am I correct that this happened only once ? a ...

Favorite Alice Lp
Hi Dennis, Wow I can’t believe you’re doing this and I can’t believe I didn’t see it till now! You guys were my gateway to music, a love affair that still thoroughly entwines me! I have so many questions. I’ll start with the lamest one… If any, and of those you’re familiar with, which is your favori...

Re: Our Love Will Save The World Credits.
They did change a lot of the lyrics, I had to look it up though. I find it interesting that they didn’t have any credits for “Rock n Roll” considering how much they re-arranged that, but of course that’s counted as musical arrangement.

IMHO I would say it was almost the complete opposite!!!

Re: I Hate You
I didn't particularly like the sound of the thirty seconds clips from paranormal when they were released but completely changed my mind when I heard the full song's in context. So far I have liked what I have heard, good solid rock mixed with the Alice quirkiness. I wasn’t expecting to like paranor...

Re: I Hate You
It seems as though the reunion of Ezrin/Cooper has not been as fruitful as I was hoping. "Wonderful World" is more in line with what I'd like to hear though. Well it’s been ten years now and I wouldn’t say it was fruitless (I know that’s not what you said!) . Personally I’ve enjoyed quite a lot of ...

Re: I Hate You
if that preview is anything to go by, the album sound storming to me. totally unsurprised to see certain comments quoted here, makes me wonder why certain people even bother being part of a AC site. maybe they should hang around a site of someone they actually like, where they could be happy. I thi...

Re: I Hate You
Ugh I am not liking this it all. High Heeled Shoes is awful and does not sound like a Cooper song at all. I like I Hate You with the trade off vocals but the rest is meh. I think we are witnessing a serious decline in his vocals too. There is no texture or warmth to them. Major misstep after Parano...

Well I quite like the song on first listen. Your guitar solo is creative and unique. Mr Buxton is smiling on you.steven_crayn wrote: ↑Thu Feb 04, 2021 2:21 amBest moment of my career playing the guitar solo, which i recorded remotely at a studio in the UK in May last year during the lockdown.

Re: comparing ACG to Alice solo in terms of rating enjoyment
Well Alice solo has had quite a few different phases so maybe it would be easier to separate each of them and rate them against the group (which possibly could be argued had 2 separate phases itself ) I.e ballad Alice 60, black out Alice 100, Hair Metal Alice -1 etc.. I'd have to go on an album by ...

I’ve just listened to the Glasgow 82 Lp ago finally got a copy. Loved it. Along with the original group this is my favourite Alice period. I’ve got a boot of the show too but this was well worth adding to my collection.

Re: The Alice Cooper Show 1977
Does anyone know if this was in fact a quasi live album or was I just imagining that? I’m not sure , someone recently mentioned it on the SF forum, but again they were asking if it was true or not. I’ve just scanned through Dick Wagner’s book again and the only mention about the album I could find ...
