Re: Hey Stoopid Opinions?

Generally agree with the opinions here. Much better than Trash, which only had one or two good songs on it. I think the title track is pretty awful. I would have ditched it, and do... 1. Love's a Loaded Gun 2. Dangerous Tonight 3. Might As Well Be On Mars 4. Feed My Frankenstein 5. Hurricane Years 6...

Re: Is it worth recording new albums?

Are you saying that any musician who writes music "for a paycheck" is not a "real musician"? Obviously not. What I'm saying is that if you're a musician, writing music is an impulse, regardless of whether or not you find monetary success. Everyone wants money, but the act of making music is a rewar...

Re: Is it worth recording new albums?

>God forbid they do it for the love of creating an album. Who is going to pay for that? 1) These people aren't exactly poor. 2) Technology is at a point where you can create a high quality product with a home computer. 3) Kickstarter/Gofundme/etc. I have no illusions about the business side of thin...

The one on the Old School Box Set is incredible, despite some sound mixing issues.
In terms of solo Alice, I really love Brutally Live.

Re: Alice looks back on 12 career-defining albums

Gotta say, he comes across as a little bit of an ego-maniac in this interview. Also, Along Came a Spider but not Brutal Planet? Really? Brutal Planet was probably his best album of the 2000s so far.

Re: 30th anniversary of DaDa today

Dada is one of Cooper's most underrated albums. It's so creepy and original. I've always loved "Fresh Blood" and the opening track.

Re: Your biggest disappointment in Alice's career

I do get sick of hearing how his show is more theatrical than ever, and then it's the same show he's been touring since 2008, basically. Although I'd rather have him still touring, and I'll go to watch regardless.

Re: Alice's new tracks for MaryAnn Cotton

you mean fourth rate right? No. I mean sixth rate. Sorry, a typo. Alice Cooper in the early days were very Yardbirds even stealing their set when they supported them, but later developed their own sound, who is to say this guy won't? Take a look at this guy. Cooper had an image, even when he was ri...

Re: why do people hate ACAS?

Larry, what are the 3 tracks you consider to be good and which song do you think is the worst? Best: Vengeance is Mine Killed By Love I Am the Spider And by best, I mean the only ones that I've listened to a few times. They're pretty bland by Cooper standards. There's really no "worst;" the rest ar...

Re: why do people hate ACAS?

It was a filler album. There were three good songs on it, if that. The rest was a wash.

There's no disputing that Alice Cooper is an extremely creative and intelligent guy, but even smart people make junk sometimes.

Re: Alice's new tracks for MaryAnn Cotton

Sorry, not impressed. I understand idolizing someone - Alice Cooper idolized The Beatles, the Yardbirds, etc - but he didn't out right steal from them.

Girls name? Check.
Look? Check.
Vocal style? Check.
Music style? Check.

He's a forth rate rip off with a rich and famous dad. Screw this guy.

Re: Alice's artistic legacy?

>It depends on which period you're referring to. I think he cares more about connecting with an audience than Bowie did (with a couple of exceptions in Bowie's case). I think in recent years, before the heart attack, Bowie was himself on stage, and was able to connect with the audience. He talked to...

Re: Alice's artistic legacy?

Hopefully, his artistic legacy will be excellent songwriting, a memorable stage presence, dedication to his art, and longevity. However, I don't think he will ever be as respected as Bowie - not because I don't think he deserves it, but because, somehow, Bowie escaped the moniker of "rock star" and ...
