Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day:THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF

>By "legal agreements", I mean "contracts". The material you're referring to (with the exception of the first two albums and even the ownership of those was not entirely clear at one point) was owned by Warner Brothers and was released by a company that was a part of Warner Brothers, so I'm not sur...

> there will always need to be legal agreements created addressing the 1969-74 material as well. Which "legal agreements"? It doesn't sound like you know a lot about this. By "legal agreements", I mean "contracts". (What else could I mean?) I'm not saying I "know a lot about this", but I would be s...

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day:THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF

I remember the title actually being listed in ICE as having a release date of sometime in 1994. I'm not sure what pused it back, but I'm sure the legal intricacies of releasing both Warner and MCA material in the same package, plus Alice's break with Epic that same year (rememeber, there was no 1994...

Re: My God

I've always thought that if you took the best songs from "Lace And Whiskey" and the best songs from "Alice Cooper Goes To Hell", you'd have a terrific album. Maybe, someday, I'll try and come up with a track sequence--but "My God" would most likely be the album closer.

Well, he was pretty big at the time, so it wasn't that much of a surprise.
Plus the perpetrators were not Alice fans but MM fans
They weren't Manson fans at all--they were actually into Rammstein.

Re: The Alice Cooper album of the Day:THE LIFE AND CRIMES OF

This is a great boxed set for the reasons set forth in the review--it stikes a perfect balance between hits for the casual fans and rarities for the hardcore fan. I have one of the early copies with the barred window cut into the front of the box; Alice appears to be standing behind the widow, and t...

Re: More questions: Live tracks on b-sides and compilations

More goodies in the mail--the Austrailian "Lost In America" CD single. Yes, it contains the same 1991 Live "Only Women Bleed that also appears on the Japanese "The Last Temptation" bonus disc and the "Freedom For Frankenstein" comp, and not, it does not include "Wind-Up Toy"--the song, and indeed th...

Re: Old School Box Set - Interviews disc

I'm not so sure Alice doesn't embellish/twist stories as he doesn't recall!!!?? I I that that what happens is that Alice will occasionally bend the truth for effect, which is occasionally disconcerting. When I first heard the "Live At The Whiskey A Go-Go" album, I was struck at how enthusiastic the...

Re: More questions: Live tracks on b-sides and compilations

Just got a couple of used CD's in the mail--"Extended Versions" and "Legends". Another thread that discussed "Extended Versions" (http://www.sickthingsuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=6180) was pretty much dead on--there was speculation that "Under My Wheels" was not the 1987 Cincinnati version f...

Re: More questions: Live tracks on b-sides and compilations

I'm also trying to make sense of the 1991 "Electric Ladyland" songs--I'm waiting on a copy of the Austrailian "Lost In America" single, if only to verify whether or not is somehow a unique edit or merely the first half of "Only Women Bleed"/"Wind Up Toy" from the Japanese "Last Temptation" and "Free...

Re: More questions: Live tracks on b-sides and compilations

Another question--I'm trying to establish what live tracks are included on which compilations CD's. Tracklistings for thes comps on the AC discographies I'd encountered seem tend to indicate that a track is "live" and leave it at that. For example, this website states that the comp "Classicks" cont...

Re: Alice compared to Mick Jagger

Mick is a great showman. The Stones are one of my favourite rock bands. But like Tuneylune said, they rarely put out anything new. In all fairness to Sir Mick, he is more or less required to record and tour with the Stones; some of his outside projects have been interesting, but he has not been abl...

Re: Ever get insulted for liking Alice?

I once had a bipolar ex-girlfriend who, for some reason, hated Alice. After I broke up with her (via a restraining order--she was literally a certified nutcase) I discovered that much of my records, etc. were missing.

Questions about single edits/mixes vs. album versions

Hi--I'm trying to gather info about the AC discography, and I'm finding that there seem to be far more unique single mixes/edits of certain songs than I had originally thought. Since I have not been able to personally listen to many of these old 45's, I thought I'd try and pose my questions here. Th...
