Never Been Sold Before
Hey Dennis,
Almost every time I listen to this song, I wonder why it's got such a long fadeout. At nearly two minutes long, it's colossal.
Was there any specific thinking behind it being on the record like this?

Re: PRETTIES FOR YOU question
A major "what if" here...... Had Pretties for You been a surprise hit, expanded your international audience a to a great extent and brought forth good record deals, do you think it's possible you and the guys could have stayed moving in a more experimental and 'out there' direction? I'm thinking of ...

Re: Old School inspiration
Really good to hear a clear illustration of what you were 'bringing to the party'. You deserve a lot of credit for using multiple songs as your inspiration, instead of simply trying to echo one particular solo. And if/when the band do it live, all three guitarists can have their own bit of it. Treme...

Soundcheck Jams
I remember reading a snotty Rolling Stone review where one of the few compliments was for the blistering version of Train Kept A-Rollin' they'd heard you play in a soundcheck.
Were there any other covers that were a particular favourite to jam for soundchecks?

Fellow Bass Players
Hey Dennis, Thanks once again for engaging with us on here and sharing all this fascinating information. I was wondering if your path ever crossed that of fellow bass players who were riding on the wave at the same time as you? I was especially curious about those that were big in the British scene:...

Re: Billion Dollar Babies Holiday Tour
Thanks Dennis. This has got me thinking about other setlist omissions: Hallowed By My Name from the Love it to Death tour Desperado from the Killer tour Generation Landslide from the Billion Dollar Babies tour Are there any specific reasons these songs never made it in? Were any of them close to bei...

Billion Dollar Babies Holiday Tour
Hey Dennis,
It's always struck me as a bit surprising that neither Never Been Sold Before nor Teenage Lament made it into the setlist on this tour. I know there's only so many songs you can play on one night, but was there any definite reason for these two not featuring?

Re: Detroit Stories Review
Something that's struck me is that the verses of Independence Dave are the most like a blackout era song that Alice has recorded since the early eighties. His voice is very reminiscent of that period. If the chorus and production were tweaked a little, the song itself could slot onto one of those al...

Re: I Hate You
I noticed that as well. Maybe a mistake with the spelling in the official lyrics, as surely Syd Barrett is the smarter reference in every way?

Re: A Paranormal Evening At The Olympia Paris DVD / Blu-Ray release
I didn't get the box with the Blu-ray. Got the DVD though. It's a fine show. Highly amusing moment was when my partner said "There's the snake guy down the front again." I'd looked away at that moment so dismissively said to her, "No, this is a Paris gig." But there he was right enough. Bill 'the ma...

Re: Detroit Stories - What gets played live?
Depending on when he actually gets to tour again and, if he doesn't do a Detroit Stories section, I reckon Social Debris and Hanging On By A thread would be the only two tracks getting into the set list.

Those of us at the gigs in '82 can now relive the support act thanks to everything in history being somewhere on YouTube. Here's the A and B sides of their one and only single.

I see this has appeared on YouTube. I don't think I've seen it before as I'd surely have remembered Alice's hideous trousers.

Re: Social Debris
I'm in complete agreement that the current touring band should be fully involved in any new Alice album(s), ideally with further contributions from the original guys. I'm disappointed with every new release announcement when it's clear that they've been shut out again. On the other hand, I think Rob...

Re: New Dali biopic
Interesting, cheers.
The thing is, Alice often looked so rough back then that I reckon a near 40-year-old could possibly get away with playing him.
In a lot of ways, Alice has looked about 40 for the majority of his life.
