Re: Flying Tigers
I was in the hospital in maybe 1979 or 1980. My aunt brought me a music magazine and there was an article about the Flying Tigers inside. I was shocked that you and Neal had much shorter hair. Neal said something to the effect that you guys had recorded the world's first platinum tapes. :D Anyway, t...

The Cracking Low Bass Note
I first heard I Love The Dead in 1974. There's the opening slide down on bass guitar which resolves in a solid note (Low 'E'?) which has a cracking sound as if the speaker is broken (or maybe the string plucked a little hard). For whatever reason, I think it helps set the mood of the song. Was there...

Re: The Alice Cooper Show 1977
I bought it the day it was released and have loved it since. Saw the tour in spring and this record has the same sound and feel (even though a few band members had been swapped out).

Re: comparing ACG to Alice solo in terms of rating enjoyment
Well Alice solo has had quite a few different phases so maybe it would be easier to separate each of them and rate them against the group (which possibly could be argued had 2 separate phases itself ) I.e ballad Alice 60, black out Alice 100, Hair Metal Alice -1 etc.. I'd have to go on an album by ...

Re: An Alice Cooper vinyl box set
Who wo All in easily £1000. A lot for anyone to stump up and maybe makes it unviable but could offer 0% finance options. Financing vinyl records? Times sure have changed. "And I laughed to myself at the men and the ladies who never conceived of us Billion Dollar Babies." You should see what Gene Si...

Re: New single - 'Our Love Will Change The World'
I got 15 seconds in and it just didn't catch fire for me. I've waited 43 years for Alice to go mainstream (once you hit the run out groove of Lace and Whiskey, it seemed to me the perfect ending for Alice Cooper). I was expecting we would be introduced to Vince Furnier, pop singer/songwriter post L&...

As already stated in so many words, I'd rather him make a complete catastrophe of an album than play it safe with boring covers. Of course, I think ZCS is a masterpiece.

Re: New album cover
My youngest son surprised me with a copy of Astroturf. The vinyl is clear and there's a Neal label. Number 3804 or something like that. Clear, Black, Orange or opaque Pink would have been my choices. I'm just glad it wasn't lavender. I remember when they were talking making a box set and Renfield wa...

Re: Album opinion change
I agree about School's Out. I became obsessed with Alice around 1984. I loved the sleeve with the folding out desk, but didn't play that album nearly as much as the others. I now think it's one of my favourites, although I usually skip Track 1! I never cared for the song 'School's Out'. That and El...
