review of the album.

Love the snakeskin textured cover - all my B$B copies are from the 70's and 80's so I've never seen a textured cover before save for thee raised circle of diamonds. This package looks real nice

Re: BSB 50th anniversary 2cd / 3 lp out in March

I've pre-ordered this. Of course I would have preferred a different show and different outtakes, I like that we get a complete set list for a B$B show and after all these years of owning 3 different vinyl versions of the album, I finally will own a Billion Dollar bill. My 1976 Burbank issue bought b...

Re: BSB 50th anniversary 2cd / 3 lp out in March

wait a min....Is it not 51st anniversary? yep - maybe they needed the extra year to dig up a new multi-track live show that's not the Houston gig, and then they tracked down a whole new batch of studio outtakes and demos - you know so they properly cater to the hardcore and faithful. I liked the Sc...

Re: Slicker Than A Weasel

I don’t understand why it is so hard to find complete set Because it's a bootleg from a radio broadcast and the complete set was never aired. There WAS more then one broadcast and I think slightly different song lists were played at different broadcasts but a few songs have never been aired at all ...

Re: The Lace and Whiskey Era

I got the album a couple years after it came out and essentially my distaste for the album as a whole remains. It has some moments like IHT/RR/L&W I even like Damned if You Do and King of the Silver Screen, but there are too many weak tracks and the production is just too glossy, like adult contempo...

Re: Starring Alice Cooper - pictorial autobiography

It's an odd time on the way us working folks use our not just disposable income but our income in general. On one hand we have had inflation, unaffordable rents and housing prices, costs for basics like groceries going through the roof and then we have people spending crazy money on entertainment (c...

Re: Welcome to my nightmare - new 2lp + SACD

what version of welcome to my nightmare will it be do we think? i think the dvd audio version is superior to the standard album. some of the different edits etc. The duration of Devil's Food would indicate it's the original album version. I too like the dvd audio version better than the original vi...

Re: Welcome to my nightmare - new 2lp + SACD

hmm.. I don't know, doesn't seem to serve a real purpose. A nice novelty item for those with the disposable income or are cursed with the completism virus. Splitting up Years Ago/Steven/The Awakening is a bad choice but rearranging the track list on such an iconic album or choosing a 3:28 Side 4 are...

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

iirc, the cymbals on YDMN were recorded out of phase (on purpose) and Neal wanted the whole album to be recorded that way. Ezrin and Christianson did not agree but allowed the one track. It's an unusual sound and they definitely made the right choice to limit that effect to 1 short song

Re: Alice says he had nothing to do with "Killer" and "School's Out" remasters

Alice's only connection with his back catalogue is playing the songs live. I'm fine with that, what is a drag is that for what ever reason, rare and uncirculated live material has been slow to be released and it seems the people who may have possession of that material have been shut out or otherwis...

Re: Hollywood Vampires Question

I think what least appeals to me is the material they have chosen to cover seems to be a setlist created by the most corporate classic rock radio. I may be in error but the clips I've seen on YT are the most overplayed Who, Doors and Pink Floyd tunes. I think that is a little unfair, but I can see ...

Re: Hollywood Vampires Question

I have never seen or listened to a full Hollywood Vampires song, just snippets, but I'm not against it - seems like they're having fun. If some friends wanted to go, I was available and the tickets were reasonably priced - I would consider going, would be a fun night. I think what least appeals to m...

Re: B$B in quad on blu ray by Rhino

I bought this thinking it may only be available for a limited time and it will be nice to have a pristine 4-channel official version finally. Never had the original quad vinyl but have a decent stereo fold down vinyl rip. I was surprised that the old DVD audio was not the Quad version of B$B so to h...

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

I haven't done the thorough deep dive but on quick comparison, I think the Miami May 27, 1972 has previously circulated as Commack Arena, Long Island NY April 22, 1972 and as The Electric Ballroom, Detroit (which I think had to be bogus because there apparently wasn't any Electric Ballroom in Detroi...

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

I haven't read the notes yet so maybe the questions I have are answered, but given the quality of outtakes and the Miami show, I wonder if there's a Warner Brothers Archive that has been made available that was previously closed. As much of the extras would have made excellent inclusions in the Old ...

Re: The new expanded KILLER and SCHOOL's OUT

I called my own sanity into question by buying both on vinyl. Happy to say I don't regret it. Excellent packaging and sounding great. I'd agree that the Alma Mater and Elected alternate versions are especially interesting to hear. I still wonder if the Hollywood Bowl bootleg couldn't have been used...
