Re: Old School inspiration
I am so glad that I have a digital copy of this album. I play that solo over and over again. Yes, I can hear references, but you are not a copycat. (You've been properly influenced.) I love the whole thing and how you made it flow, but that Halo of Flies reference leapt out at me. That tone! Gooseb...

Re: Alice Cooper 50
This week marks the 50th Anniversary of Love It To Death. It seems that if they let this anniversary slip by unnoticed, then there probably isn't much to look forward to with any of the other upcoming album 50ths. I am really, really hoping for a School's Out box, but I don't know....

Live From the Astroturf
I know that there are numerous discussions about this title, but I think that this is the first thread centered on it. What an absolutely fabulous release. My version is black vinyl with the reflective foil cover. The sound is fantastic. The packaging is detailed and beautiful. The event was magica...

Re: 1975 Russell Harty Interview
Cool video clip. I will always wonder if they gave away too many trade secrets back then. In this interview, he basically tells his audience that they're being manipulated. I wonder if, had there been some mystique, some things left unsaid, that the whole AC thing may have had a different impact? I...

Re: Alice Cooper "Easter Eggs"... new songs referencing old songs
In "Cold Ethyl," the lyrics mention "Refrigerator Heaven."
"Elected" is a refined "Reflected."
"A Runaway Train" uses the same vocal pattern as "Dance Yourself to Death."

Re: Social Debris
It’s not everyday you get to play a guitar solo on an Alice Cooper album but it’s happened to me. Hear it now on Apple Music ahead of the February 26th release date. Written by Alice, Neal Smith and Bob Ezrin, featuring Michael Bruce and Dennis Dunaway. Follow your dreams, sometimes they come true!...

Re: The Alice Cooper Show 1977
A really big part of my problem with this album (and the whole Nightmare tour) is the drum sound. Anemic is the word I'd use. The drums sound weak, poorly tuned, and poorly miked. The snare sounds like wet newspaper, and Whitey sounds like he's barely trying. What's he playing with? Pencils? Even a...

Re: The Alice Cooper Show 1977
This record has always made me sad. I was 14 when I got it as a surprise Christmas gift. I had never seen it before that moment. I will always love the cover because of how it exploded in the light. However, it soon began to remind me of the Gong Show. (I began listening to it repeatedly, which may...

The Lemon Twigs - Leather Together
Thanks! Glad to see this question getting some traction. More suggestions, please!

Wow. Thanks, Sumorider. Very cool song! My Name is Ruin (Live).
Here's the Starz song Live Wire. Thanks tuneylune!
I am all for Alice covering each of these. He did Born This Way justice!

Re: Great AC songs (that aren't)
Back when it was released ('98), Gary Cherone said that he wrote Van Halen's "From Afar" with Alice in mind. That quote is lost on the internet, but here's the song.

Re: Great AC songs (that aren't)
Let's have some fun. This thread is about songs by other artists that would be great Alice Cooper songs. I'll start. (Click this link:) Blue Öyster Cult - "That Was Me." I thought so too when I heard this , reminded Me very much of "Dead Flies". Other BOC song that sounds like it would be an Alice ...

Re: Great AC songs (that aren't)
Good tip on "Sinful Love." (Link)
Another one here... It may seem like a slam-dunk due to the Ezrin involvement, but Deep Purple's "Vincent Price" is a prime candidate as well.

Re: comparing ACG to Alice solo in terms of rating enjoyment
I've been ruminating about this for a while, and here's my take... I cannot divide the two. The group approached it like a mission, and the records that they made are stone-cold classics. I wish that WB had allowed them to take time off after BDB, instead of pushing for more. That time off would ha...

Re: New single - 'Our Love Will Change The World'
Hated it on first listen - 4 or 5 listens later I've grown to like it - very catchy had the lyrics in my head all day I like it when that happens. A lot of music is crafted to make you like it right out of the gate. The problem with that is that the music can start sounding old. I like songs that g...

Re: New single - 'Our Love Will Change The World'
I like this song, too. I must say that hearing it makes me wish that they'd do Lady Gaga's Born This Way. I'm not big on LG at all, but what a great Alice Cooper song.

Re: An Alice Cooper vinyl box set
It's not a bad idea, but there are "buts." The only album not released on vinyl recently is School's Out . Think I saw that is due from Friday Music(?) in the next few months, with a repro desk cover... Friday, huh? I hope that this is a pre-emptive cash grab by them, leading up to an expanded (box...

Re: An Alice Cooper vinyl box set
Damn my thoughts have back fired If there is no big interest for a big vinyl box or 2 here then I guess it will never happen. Although interesting to see a couple of shouts for an ACG box, I think that could be financially viable from both a consumer and marketing point of view as well. As for that...
