Re: Steve Hunter Articles About Alice Sessions

Hi there Sickthings! As promised, Steve Hunter's article on 'Devil's Food' has now been published online so here it is. As I said before, there is one more regarding those earliest days, which is about the transition to working with solo Alice. That will be in January then he will be moving on to so...

Re: Steve Hunter Articles About Alice Sessions

Another of Steve's articles about the recording of 'Welcome To My Nightmare' tracks has gone up online for those who do not buy the Guitar Player Magazine. This one is about the 'Some Folks' sessions. Next month will be about 'Devils Food' (already published in the magazine) which is the last articl...

Steve Hunter Articles About Alice Sessions

There may be some people on the forum who do not know that Steve Hunter has been writing a monthly column for Guitar Player Magazine for the last year. The guideline for the 500 words per month is to recall his memories of the many sessions he has contributed to over 45 years, but as time goes on th...

Re: Steve Hunter to get backdated royalties

There seems to be some misunderstanding about performance royalties going on here. Phonographic Performance Limited (PPL) has been around since 1934. It is a UK-based music licensing company and performance rights organisation founded by Decca and EMI. As of 2012 PPL collected royalties for 65,000 p...

Re: Steve Hunter to get backdated royalties

Thanks Pitkin, maybe I should think about that. I have musician friends whose eyes glazed over just looking at the PPL homepage (:

Re: Steve Hunter to get backdated royalties

Guitar Player Magazine covered the story about Steve Hunter and the airtime royalties, they took a different tack and made me the focus which was a surprise for sure. The good thing about this article is that I think it's a bit clearer on what it was all about. http://www.guitarplayer.com/artists/10...

Re: Steve Hunter rare offerings

Hi Sickthings, we want to thank those of you who supported Steve on his Kickstarter. It raised 275% of the original goal! He is busy recording every day and is determined to make this his best album to date. It looks like we have a drummer lined up (with the absence of Glen) and a studio here in Pho...

Re: Steve Hunter rare offerings

Hi Sickthings, we know you are busy getting ready for the new AC tour which will be fab of course and we hope Alice and the entire gang have a great time. Once again, we will miss meeting up with some of you but we are busy with the new album and life in general. Steve says the one thing he will mis...

Re: Steve Hunter rare offerings

  Thanks to the Sickthings that helped Steve get to the Kickstarter goal. It is up for another 19 days, this means that you could still be part of The Manhattan Blues Project by pledging anything from $1 upwards. Pre buying the CD is a huge help and there are still other things on there ...

Re: Steve Hunter rare offerings

The Whisky shirt has gone on Steve's Kickstarter and the Braves shirt has gone. We are now 94% funded and there are still things on there for the collectors and people who would like to support Steve by pre ordering the CD as a pledge. We reduced the Hall of Fame top hat and the red Jagermeister sui...

Re: Steve Hunter rare offerings

We still have a few Alice things left on Steve's Kickstarter, the Braves shirt he wore on the encore this year in Atlanta, the leather Kenneth Cole jacket, the Whisky A Go Go shirt (rare). We have reached 77% of the goal so take a look if you have not already done so. The copy of the original transc...

Re: Dick Wagner / Steve Hunter have falling out

As much as Steve did not want to re kindle this subject, it is important that some things are clarified due to growing confusion. He has never said that Dick did not play on that album; he of course knows that Dick played the solo on ‘Here Comes The Flood’ as he remembers Dick needed to borrow his T...

Re: Karen Ann Hunter's Tour Blog

I have been attempting to get more regular posts up on the blog, they are a little shorter with pics when I have the time and opportunity to take them. We move to bus traveling in Europe which I find more tricky as I get car sick but I will do my best to keep them going. I love doing them and I hope...

Re: Orianthi To Continue Playing With Alice After Tour ?

Ori is doing all the same solo spots that Damon had and also now has a featured spot that he did not have. It is difficult to tell from Youtube vids, you have to see the whole show. :)

LA Rehearsals

Steve and Orianthi spontaneously started trading licks during first rehearsal today, the rest of the band joined in. It turned into an awesome power blues jam.
Jay Lenno tomorrow, yay!
