Never liked the Smiths or Morrissey but my brother-in-law saw the last tour and was delighted with the lack of Smiths songs in the set. Just proves once again that we are all different. Accept your point though.
Well ... I guess then Moz AND your brother-in-law likes the new material ;)

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

The thing about Morrissey is that anyone (except Morrissey) would say that his best work is not that of the last few album, so I was posting his setlist to be the Devil's Advocate. By the way, if anyone is unfamiliar ... pick up ANYTHING by The Smiths (his former band) and I can guarantee you some s...

For comparison, here's the setlist Morrissey used the last time I saw him: Suedehead Alma Matters You Have Killed Me Ganglord Speedway Staircase at the University Have-A-Go Merchant I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris World Peace Is None of Your Business Kiss Me a Lot Istanbul Meat Is Murder(The Smith...

Has Alice commented on the "satanic" people influenced by him?

So, King Diamond (whom I really like and hope to see live one day) is obviously inspired by Alice. I also guess that many of the corpse paint guys in black/death metal (I'm not good with genre distinctions) are as well. There is a clip from a documentary, with Alice talking humorhusly about the deat...

Re: ‘Ol black eyes is back Tour

I don't want to get anybody's hopes up, but two songs rumored to be in the OBE is B Tour setlist are Poison and School's Out. One can only hope. There's also talk of a drum solo. Cruel stuff, man. In all seriousness, do we know anything about the setlist/content? I last saw Alice in 2011 (time flie...

I hate seated rock shows, luckily the venue near me has standing tickets as well.

That makes sense. Looking up Johnson, I see that he looks nothing like Tom Green in other pictures. Please don't tell him about my mistake :)

Out of curiosity: NotSoPerfect, what's going on in your profile picture?

A) You're a woman posing with Tom Green.

or ...

B) You're a man who looks a bit like Tom Green, posing with a female celebrity I'm unaware of ...

Re: VIP got VERY expensive?

Yeah, I'm with you. Alice Cooper was always a business, and I have no issue with that. I kind of hope they'll have zero sales and bring down the prices by 3/4, though!

Hurm. I see that this warrants a higher price. Still feel like it it should be less expensive than a used car, though ;)

VIP got VERY expensive?

So, AC announced that he is swinging by my country. I've always wanted to do the Meet & Greet, but then I saw the prices: Roughly 760 EUR (or 890 USD for the yanks). Did something happen to make the VIP tickets so expensive? I think I remember them being about half that price, a bit less than a deca...

Struzan uses photoreference a lot and does it well. Always nice to see the pieces of the puzzle, so thanks for this!

Re: Chances of meeting Alice without VIP purchase!

As much as he seems to enjoy being a rock star, I think he should be given some space - though I can't say I've not been hoping to meet him and others when they were in town.

Re: Alice and Paul

I never really cared about KISS, but I'm happy to see him in such good shape. He looks happy, and that "deformed ear awareness" thing he did some time back was a nice move.

This is what's in the book, plus my typos. It might have been edited from what appeared in the magazine.

Re: Paul Morley interviews Alice for NME, 1982

Moonshadow, you're welcome. I feel privileged to be able to give something to AC fandom, even if it's an interview from when he was not really well. Thankfully, he got better!

And yes, it seems plausible that Morley added a bit of "ambiance" at some point.
