Re: The Alice Cooper Show 1977

...as is - I think of it as one of the 70's worst live albums by a major artist. Down there with Deep Purple's "Last Concert in Japan" and Black Sabbath's "Live at Last" technically an 80's live album but with recordings made in the 70's I haven't heard Last Concert in Japan so I won't comment on t...

On another note I've always thought Alice could cover Sanitarium from Metallica and even Sandman
Hmmm...maybe the former song but I'm not as sure about the latter one.

Re: comparing ACG to Alice solo in terms of rating enjoyment

It bugs me when some folks say that they quit AC after the group split. It's as if they are saying that solo Alice is easily discounted. Really? Bullship. His music/musicians/performance has never faltered - even during the darkest days. I am not here to say that everything Alice squeezes out is 10...

Re: New theory on an old album

An interesting scenario that I hadn't ever thought of which as you state would have been quite logical given the equal running times per side in that case.

Re: An Alice Cooper vinyl box set

Hey how about a double live record from the MoL tour or an Easy Action show That's worthwhile I would support the release of both of the above; one potential issue with the latter is that there weren't really any 'Easy Action shows' per se as the album was rushed, and around the time of it's releas...

Re: An Alice Cooper vinyl box set

...I wouldn't mind buying a CD box set if it was made worthwhile (ie demos, B-sides, unreleased tracks, live shows etc)... IMO a CD box set with the extras listed above would likely be even better, however, it's a question of whether or not there's enough material that hasn't yet been officially re...

Re: An Alice Cooper vinyl box set

If it was split into 2 boxes as rgallie suggests, I might be interested in the ACG box if it contained the original issues of each album w/all of the extras (i.e. panties, billion dollar bill). The price would have to be right too, though.

Re: Eddie Trunk Top 20

It really is quite different! I have that on the Old School set...I prefer the Muscle of Love version over the demo but man, did that demo throw me off the first time I heard it! Indeed it is quite different. The interesting thing is that quite a few of the lyrics are the same, whereas with demos u...

Re: Eddie Trunk Top 20

Everyone is a bit different but a bunch of these tunes would make my list(especially the first 5)... The one song I always loved for some reason is “Never Been Sold Before” And that would definitely make my list. The ending of the tune drags on a bit long but that tune don’t get many mentions anywh...

Re: Eddie Trunk Top 20

For comparison's sake after Eddie reveals his top 20 AC songs, here are mine (in chronological order - there are only 17 songs listed right now but I'll try to add 3 more between now and Tues.): Caught In a Dream Second Coming Ballad of Dwight Fry Under My Wheels Halo of Flies Desperado Dead Babies ...

I would pick Crazy Little Child, which I've always considered to be one of the better songs on MOL.

Re: Slash interview re: Alice's snakes

In his book Billion Dollar Baby, Bob Greene details how at the end of the BDB Holiday Tour, the Member of the ACG's Road Crew who was responsible for Alice's snake at the time managed to 'sneak' the reptile onto the commercial flight as carry-on luggage. Mr. Greene also recounted in the book how ear...

Re: Grand Finale credits

Although, I can imagine how some fans might have been thrown off a bit. It was indeed quite a departure, not only this track but the album in general, given the style of the two previous albums. But they definitely had this part in them too. Just listened to SO last night, love this album! M...

Re: Old School Uncool

The reason there is such a difference in the writing from these guys from the original group and after is Bob Ezrin. I too agree to a certain degree re. Bob's influence on the ACG in terms of songwriting and production. He wasn't involved with the Battle Axe album which I consider to be great in qu...

Re: Old School Uncool

Out of the original band solo records "Battle Axe" is my favorite that I still listen to quite a bit. More than any other solos. I haven't heard Neal's new release yet, but taking into account everything I have heard from the ACG's solo endeavours I certainly agree with the above comment. IMHO only...

Re: Have you changed your mind?

^^ Thank you for your post, Si. I was just repeating what I'd read elsewhere when I posted about WTMN being the last album in the ACG's contract. It doesn't really seem plausible to me anyway. Hopefully AMUK will chime in if he has any further insight re. which was the final album in the Original Gr...
