Re: Manchester

I agree with everything Killer Wolf says. I thought it was fantastic-am tempted to go to London to see it again! Not something I have done since Theatre of Death. The lighting and presentation of Billion Dollar Babies was the best I've ever seen it (and I have seen every tour back to Special Forces)...

Re: He's human after all!!!

Am not sure Si. I noticed this because of the singing on the chorus. Perhaps he uses a lower tuning more now as his voice changes with age.
Don't they use a tuning with the bottom string tuned to D instead of the E for that more industrial rock sound?

He's human after all!!!

After the thread about Elected and the disgraceful incident in Huntsville I wanted to see how the Trump Clinton fight looked and came across this clip :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDDyrf6vE28 It interested me for two reasons. First I have noticed in the past that Alice usually lets the audience ...

Re: Constrictor Thirty Year Anniversary

Never mind a thirty years anniversary re-issue of the album-I'd take a thirty year anniversary re -doing of "The Nightmare Returns Tour" in full. It remains today the best concert I have ever seen in my life (Manchester Apollo). Great opening, brilliant multi level stage set, superb lighting, fantas...

Re: Is The Casual Fan Ruining Alice Cooper?

Fair points re:keyboard player Guttertrash in terms of the arrangements and I assume keyboards are pre-recorded or sequenced in some parts of the show, but I see the three guitar player thing as part of Alice's desire to be part of some kind of pub band par excellence (are they called bar bands in t...

Re: Is The Casual Fan Ruining Alice Cooper?

After going to see the Raise the Dead show in Wolverhampton I was so disappointed I started a post basically asking whether the "Theatre of Death" tour would be seen as Alice's last great tour (it was the thread Shep responded to). Reading the setlist and seeing the cover songs once again my thread ...

Re: Hanging Stunt Goes Wrong

In the case of the guillotine they are stories to sell tickets. In the early nineties I was in a rock horror band which played the working men's clubs in the north of England and we borrowed heavily from Alice's theatrics. We had a fully working guillotine illusion like the one Alice uses. For those...

Could almost be a sample

Driving along and heard this on the radio -when it started (before the vocals) I thought it was "Steven"-too close for comfort in my view.

Re: Chiller

......Pitkin wrote about cutting the band some slack. Fair enough-I am sure they would rehearse more if there were to be the prospect of more gigs- but I am not going to pretend something is good when it isn't.

Re: Chiller

Having just watched the Youtube clip link provided by Steven Crayn, as a great fan of the original band I am sorry to write that I find it virtually unlistenable and bordering on embarrassing. Sound quality notwithstanding, the playing seems sloppy and amateurish (listen to part of the solo on Under...

Re: Same setlist time after time

Surely the answer to this post is rehearsal time. Any musician knows it takes time to get "gig fit" and "tight" so the usual songs that are played I suspect are the ones all the band (including the stand in guitarist)have continued playing as staples in the live set lists of the separate strands/pro...

Re: Similar to "Only Women Bleed"

Re: the guitar tab.
Perhaps it also sounds similar because this song is in the key of G like OWB. The chord progression G A C on the verse is made even more similar because of the descending sound of some of the chord inversions too!As Si said definitely too close for comfort!!

Similar to "Only Women Bleed"

I appreciate there are only so many chord changes but the tempo, chords and melody on the verse of this song are very similar to OWB. I just heard it driving home and when I heard the intro I expected a cover!
